Pok¨Śmon Go Dialga counters, weaknesses and moveset explained
How to defeat the Legendary Steel and Dragon-type Pok¨Śmon, Dialga, in Pok¨Śmon Go.
Dialga, the Temporal Pokémon, will appear from time to time in the world of Pokémon Go.
Dialga and its cousin Palkia have become mainstays of Master League, the highest tier of the game’s competitive mode: Go Battle League. Now, with the advent of Origin Forme Palkia and Origin Forme Dialga, there’s even more reason to raid these Pokémon.
But in order to do that, and to add Dialga to your Legendary collection in Pokémon Go, you’ll need to know its weaknesses and counters.
As with all Legendary Pokémon, Dialga will be available in five-star raids for a limited time, so, if you want to add it to your Pokédex, you’ll need to battle it alongside a group of trainers. Thanks to Remote Raiding, you can save time by doing this from home.

Everything we know about Dialga
Originating from the Sinnoh region, Dialga is a member of the creation trio, also known as the deity trio, alongside Palkia and Giratina.
According to its official Pokédex page, 'It has the power to control time. It appears in Sinnoh-region myths as an ancient deity.' These myths explain how Arceus (Poké-god) created the trio at Spear Pillar, which some believe to be the creation point from the entire Pokémon universe.
Giratina (Poké-Satan) was banished to the Distortion World due to its violent nature. After this Arceus would also create the lake trio - Azelf, Mesprit and Uxie - to calm either Dialga or Palkia if they ever went out of control.
Dialga debuted alongside the rest of Gen 4 in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. It’s also the mascot Pokémon for the Diamond game, appearing on both the box art and as a character in the storyline.
As of February 2024, Trainers in Pokémon Go can use Origin Forme Dialga to pause time, allowing for much more efficient use of Lucky Eggs, Star Pieces and Incenses.
Good luck finding a shiny Dialga in Pokémon Go!
