Pok¨Śmon Crown Tundra: Regi locations and puzzle solutions - how to get Regieleki, Regidrago, Regirock, Regice, and Registeel
A full walkthrough for the second adventure in the Crown Tundra expansion.
The Regis make a welcome return to Pokémon Sword and Shield in their Crown Tundra expansion, and they've brought a couple of new ones with them in an adventure named The Terrible Titans... Lurking Locked Away! by Peony.
The adventure to catch them - also referred to as just The Legendary Giants by your adventure clue - is relatively straightforward, as you just need to find each of their temples and solve a simple puzzle to enter each, but there's one brain teaser in particular that might have you stuck towards the end.
Below then, we'll detail how to get Regirock, Regice, and Registeel, all Regi temple locations and puzzle solutions as well as explaining the trickier Regieleki and Regidrago puzzle solution in particular.
On this page:
Regirock temple location and puzzle solution - a never-changing stone
The Regis are a trio of returning titans originally discovered in Gen 3's Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald, plus a pair of newbies in Regieleki and Regidrago. First up, here's all the info you need on Regirock, the Rock-type.
Regirock temple location
Regirock's temple is described as being "far, far into the Giant's bed", and that's more or less all the info you need. Head all the way to the far eastern end of the area, taking the lower route through the Old Graveyard until you reach a river on your right.
Don't cross the river and instead hang left-ish, through a narrow pass with long grass, and the yellow-brong temple will be on the back wall just up ahead.
Regirock temple puzzle solution
To enter Regirock's temple, you'll need to have the first Pokémon in your party hold a "never-changing stone". If you haven't figured it out, that is an Everstone. You'll likely have at least one already, but if you don't one can be found in Turffield.
How to catch Regirock
To catch Regirock, you need to simple walk on all of the circular pads on the floor, so they're all lit up. Once they are, interact with the statue and Regirock will appear for a battle!
Bring a good catcher Pokémon - one with high Attack stats, False Swipe, and at least one status effect move like Thunder Wave or Hypnosis. We use Bisharp and Gallade ourselves. The rest of your party should be bulky with good rock resistances, so you can sit there and take Regirock's hits while you wait to catch it. It's Level 70.
Regice temple location and puzzle solution - a living crystal of snow
The second Regi you're after is the Ice-type, Regice.
Regice temple location
Regice's temple is found "sunken in the side of Snowslide Slope". To get there, cycle up to the top of the first hill, until you see two red brick ruins.
Go behind the one on the left, then follow the icy path there as far as it goes, and you'll find the icy blue temple for Regice.
Regice temple puzzle solution
The puzzle to open this one is "walk together with a living crystal of snow". The solution, if you're not sure, is to have a Cryogonal as the first Pokémon in your party, and have it out of its Pokéball walking behind you.
How to catch Regice
Once inside, it's the same simple puzzle again: light up all the circles on the floor by walking on them, then interact with the statue and battle Regice to catch it, like you'd catch any other Pokémon.
Our advice remains the same here! Bring a good catcher Pokémon - one with high Attack stats, False Swipe, and at least one status effect move like Thunder Wave or Hypnosis, like Bisharp or Gallade. The rest of your party should be bulky with good Ice resistances, so you can sit there and take Regice's hits while you wait to catch it. It's Level 70 again.
Registeel temple location and puzzle solution - let ring the piercing note
The third of the original Regi trio is Registeel, the Steel-type.
Registeel temple location
Registeel's location is described as being "near where green meets snow in the Giant's Bed". This is simple enough: go to Freezington, and go down Frostpoint Field via the gap in the fence next to Peony's house with the flags.
The temple will be on your right, just where you join onto Giant's Bed.
Registeel temple puzzle solution
Another simple puzzle needs solving for you to enter: you need to "let ring the piercing note that will wake the giant of steel." If you're unsure, you just need to whistle! This is done by clicking in the left analogue stick, if you've forgotten.
How to catch Registeel
Inside, walk on the light-up pads once more, and interact with the statue to battle and catch Registeel, like a usual encounter.
Same advice again! Bring a good catcher Pokémon - one with high Attack stats, False Swipe, and at least one status effect move like Thunder Wave or Hypnosis, like Bisharp or Gallade. The rest of your party should be bulky with good Steel resistances, so you can sit there and take Registeel's hits while you wait to catch it. It's Level 70 again.

Regieleki and Regidrago puzzle solution, temple location and which one to choose
Finally, there's a fourth temple to head to, which works just slightly differently. This time you'll be faced with a choice between one of the two new Regis: you can only catch one, and will need to trade for the other, so will you take Regieleki, the Electric-type, or Regidrago, the Dragon-type?
Regieleki and Regidrago temple location
Regieleki and Regidrago's temple is located "on this distant paths of Three-Point Pass", and as the clue says, it's a bit of a trek.
To get there, you need to first go through Giant's Bed via the lower path of the Old Cemetary. But this time at the end, hang hard left.
You'll reach a small area with another short river in it, called Giant's Foot. Head into the tunnel via the river here to go through an area called Roaring Sea Caves.
This is a fairly complex network of tunnels that are well worth exploring, given the rarity of the Pokémon and items available, but if you want to get straight through here are the directions:
- Go along the river until the end. Grab some items in the room on the left, then head into the tunnel, right.
- At the end of the tunnel you reach a room with several exits. Go straight ahead, downhill.
- Turn right at the bottom of the hill, onto a ramp that doubles back onto itself.
- Continue straight on at the bottom, into another tunnel and out the other side onto the Frigid Sea.
Once you're at the Frigid Sea, you're almost there. Go onto the sea itself and immediately turn right, looping round the block of ice to go back onto the next bit of land.
Continue up the short hill until you're stood amongst the three big prongs coming out of the ground - the temple is on your left!
Regieleki and Regidrago temple puzzle solution
The puzzle here is "A giant of rock, a giant of ice, a giant of steel, when gather the three giants, the door of destiny shall be opened." It's simple enough: put all three other Regis - Regirock, Regice, Registeel - into your party and the door will open.
Inside, however, there's a different puzzle. Lighting up all the pads on the floor won't work. Instead, you need to light up specific floor pads depending on which one you want to fight and catch out of Regieleki and Regidrago.
The solution is on the Adventure Clue page for this two-coloured temple, as well as the top of the temple itself. Look at the top and you'll see two different symbols made in dots. The one on the yellow background is for Regieleki, the purple background for Regidrago. Light up the floor pads in the symbol for the Pokémon that you want, and the puzzle will be solved!
How to choose between Regieleki and Regidrago
Regieleki and Regidrago are both strong Pokémon in their own right, and much more competitively viable than any of the other Regis here.
Regieleki has the highest Speed stat of any Pokémon, ever, and good offensive stats. Its Speed is so high, in fact, that if you're competitively training it then you can actually put all your EVs into its other stats and it'll still outspeed the vast majority of the competition, making it a hugely viable sweeper. The downside is it has a narrow move pool, but its ability, Transistor, powers up all Eletric-type moves by 50%, meaning an Electric-type attack from Regieleki actually does more damage than a super effective one of equal power in another type. Basically, it has built-in type coverage!
Regidrago, meanwhile, has not great Speed and low defensive stats, but decent attacking power and extremely high HP. It's less obvious a choice, but actually could make for a good Trick Room option competitively, and its Dragon's Maw ability works the same as Regieleki's Transistor, giving it a huge 50% boost to Dragon-type attacks on top of the same type attack bonus (STAB). A bit more situational, but still viable!
How to catch Regieleki or Regidrago
As for catching your Regi of choice, the same rules apply as always: bring a good catcher Pokémon - one with high Attack stats, False Swipe, and at least one status effect move like Thunder Wave or Hypnosis, like Bisharp or Gallade. And make sure the rest of your party is nice and bulky with good Electric or Dragon resistances, like Ground or Fairy, which are both immune respectively, so you can sit there and take Regieleki or Regidrago's hits while you wait to catch it. It's Level 70 once again.
With that last one caught, you're all done for this adventure! Head back to our Crown Tundra walkthrough hub for more, or jump straight into the next adventure, where we detail how to catch Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres in The Crown Tundra, if you like.
