Resident Evil 3 train puzzle solution: How to bring the trains online in the Subway Offices Control Room
How to solve the Control Room puzzle.
Bringing the trains online is the next step after throwing the Substation Circuit Breakers in Resident Evil 3.
This train puzzle involves observing a train map to work out which lines need to be connected to take survivors - and yourself - out of the city to safety.

Where to go to bring the trains online in Resident Evil 3
Let's start with how to reach the train puzzle location. Once you have thrown the Circuit Breakers, you need to backtrack to where we picked up the Fire Hose.
Now have the Bolt Cutters and the Lockpick, remember it's worth opening some locked areas along the way. The first of these is on the ground floor of the Subway Power Substation, giving you Handgun Ammo.
When you leave the Subway Power Substation, Nemesis will ambush you. Run past and after you pass the sparking generator, after some distance turn around when Nemesis passes to stun him.
Sprint on to the garage - just ignore the zombies - and you'll be safe after entering the door. Save your game and use the Lockpick on the locker in the Garage safe room for a First Aid Spray.
When you make it through the gate past the fire hydrant, Nemesis will appear again. You have two options - fight him until he's downed (temporarily of course) or flee. The latter is preferable if you want to conserve ammo and have some health items to spare, and we recommend giving him the run around by going via the upstairs Drugstore area (where you find the Aqua Cure safe). He will follow you, but he will be reduced to a walk, and won't easily make it through the other side.
When you arrive in the Subway Offices, he won't follow you in, so you can relax a little.
Train puzzle solution: How to bring the trains online in the Subway Offices Control Room
When ready, head into the Control Room. Here you have to plot out a route using the console, turning the dials from top to bottom.
The solution is as follows:
FA - 02
RA - 03
SA - 02
FO - 01
If you're wondering how you solve this (in case the above solution differs from game-to-game, or on different difficulities) when you get the puzzle wrong, you are shown a map of the subway stations. You need to look at the station names (FA is Faust Avenue, RA is Raccoon Central Station, and so on) and the numbers of the track which runs through it.
You need to make a line between the far left to the bottom right, avoiding the red blocked sections, so choose the route which allows you to do that - and make note of the numbers it passes through along the way. Combine those with the stations they align with, and you have the solution.
Press Enter once done to solve the puzzle.
With that out the way, all's left is to return to the Subway. Before you leave this room , open the case in this same room for Shotgun Shells.

There are plenty of things to now open - check the red locations on your map - but the most important are the Shotgun and the Jewels - which we would advise as once you return to the Subway, you cannot find them again.
