How to start the Isle of Armor DLC in Pokémon Sword and Shield
If you want to visit the Isle of Armor in Pokémon Sword and Shield, then you need to have visited the Wild Area in the main storyline for the games at least once.
This first occurs roughly two hours into the game after you've visited Professor Magnolia and departed from Wedgehurst station. You don't even need to have a Gym Badge to visit the Wild Area!
If you're having trouble reaching the Wild Area or just want to know what to do, then visit the guides below, which cover the events of both games up to when you first reach the Wild Area:
Travelling to the Isle of Armour in Pokémon Sword and Shield explained
Once you've unlocked the ability to visit the Isle of Armor (or if you've already done so), you'll automatically receive an Armor Pass. This pass will allow you to travel to the Isle of Armor and can be found in the Key Items pocket.
Pass in hand, travel to Wedgehurst train station and there you'll find a new station attendant, dressed in green, standing next to the ticket booth.
Talk to him and he'll allow you to use your Armor Pass to travel to the Isle of Armor.
Once you reach the Isle of Armor, a researcher will upgrade your Pokédex, so that it contains the Isle of Armour Pokédex.
