The chaps at RPG Vault have posted a huge preview of SquareSoft's upcoming role-playing game, Final Fantasy VIII along with a bunch of impressive screenshots. This mod is very similar to Quakeworld Team Fortress and includes character classes like the scout, sniper, and the medic. The page is currently a bit thin on information but we can expect some updates very soon, for now you can check out a few screenshots of a level and a few badass characters (especially the Pyro guy).

They are now accepting submissions for the Best UT Deathmatch Level/Map category, you got until January 18th to get your submissions in for a chance win a share of the $7,000 being given away in this category alone. Eric Biessman, designer from Raven Software updated his .plan with some information about their upcoming first-person shooter, Soldier of Fortune which is powered by the Quake II engine.
