How to add the loitering and stakeout Pok¨Śmon to your Pok¨Śdex.
Yungoos and Gumshoos, its evolutions, are two of the Gen 7 Pokémon into Pokémon Go at the start of the Season of Alola.
Both Pokémon were released as part of the Welcome to Alola event in March 2022, which makes them some of the first Gen 7 Pokémon to appear in the game.
Below you'll learn how to get Yungoos and evolve it into Gumshoos into Pokémon Go.

How to get Yungoos in Pokémon Go
Yungoos first appeared in Pokémon Go during the Welcome to Alola - the first event during the Season of Alola - on Tuesday, 1st March.
Yungoos can be obtained through a variety of methods, both during and out of the event:
- In the wild - appearing more frequently during the Welcome to Alola event
- From 2km eggs
- Non-event field research task - Catch 5 Normal-type Pokémon
- A Melemele Adventure special research quest - available as a reward from one Step 1 challenge and two Step 3 challenges
- Welcome to Alola field research task - Walk 1km
Thanks to all of the methods listed above, Yungoos is quite easy to obtain, even once the Welcome to Alola event ends.
If you're Yungoos hunting during the Welcome to Alola event, we recommend looking for them in the wild since their spawn rate has been increased. At the time of writing, we don't know what Yungoos' spawn rate will be, but there's a chance that, like most recently released Pokémon, it will be quite rare.
For this reason, completing the A Melemele Adventure special research quest is a good way to catch three Yungoos once the Welcome to Alola event ends. You may also get lucky and hatch one from a 2km egg.
When it comes to obtaining Yungoos via field research tasks, it's important to remember the tasks each PokéStop offers change on a day-to-day basis. This means that you can't simply revisit the same PokéStop over and over again. If you do want to use this method, we recommend joining a local Pokémon Go group, because someone may have already found the PokéStop you need to visit.
How to evolve Yungoos into Gumshoos in Pokémon Go
To evolve Yungoos into Gumshoos in Pokémon Go, you need 50 Yungoos Candy and for it to be daytime in Pokémon Go.
Since the time of day in Pokémon Go follows the current time for your region, it's very easy to figure out when you can evolve Yungoos. There will also be a little tick next to the sun symbol on Yungoos' evolution button if you can conduct the evolution.
You can also easily figure out what the time is in Pokémon Go by looking at the in-game map and seeing whether or not there's sunlight.
This evolution method is quite similar to how Rockruff evolves into either its Midday or Midnight form, along with how the Eevee evolutions Umbreon and Espeon work - be it without the extra buddy and walking conditions.
The Wild Area 2024: Global event is this weekend! Throughout it you can catch Pokémon during the habitat hours, use Safari Balls, catch Mighty Pokémon, battle Gigantamax Toxtricity, obtain both Toxtricity Forms and catch a Studded Jacket Snorlax. If you've purchased an event ticket, you can also complete the An Accomplished Trainer quest. You can now catch Dynamax Pokémon through Max Battles. First, however, you need to visit Power Spots to collect Max Particles and complete the To the Max! quest. Don't forget to try out Routes, Gift Exchange and Party Play while you're hunting down rare Pokémon, fighting in the Go Battle League or competing in PokéStop Showcases.
