How to unlock the MP40 in Warzone and Vanguard

The task to get your hands on the MP40 is, thankfully, straightforward enough as it doesn't involve any challenges.

In order to unlock the MP40 in Warzone and Vanguard, you need to get to Player Level 16.

It's a rather straightforward task. While it's a shame that it's not available from the get-go, it's definitely worth the time effort. but admittedly, it can be time-consuming. We recommend you to complete Team Deathmatch playlists. They won't take long in terms of match length, and you can always get good XP from them, which makes for a good balance.

But honestly, considering it's within the first few dozen levels you'll be gaining, any mode will work. Since it's Player Level, you can up for Zombies as well, so it's up to you.

Best Vanguard, Warzone MP40 loadout and attachments

Below are our recommendations for an optimal MP40 loadout, as well as the corresponding levels for each:

• Muzzle: Recoil Booster (Unlocks at level 60)
• Barrel: Krausnick 317MM 04B (Unlocks at level 18)
• Optic: Slate Reflector (Unlocks at level 17)
• Stock: Krausnick 33M Folding (Unlocks at level 4)
• Underbarrel: M1941 Hand Stop (Unlocks at level 53)
• Magazine: 9mm 64 Round Drums (Unlocks at level 37)
• Ammo Type: Lengthened (Unlocks at level 62)
• Rear Grip: Fabric Grip (Unlocks at level 46)
• Proficiency: Brace (Unlocks at level 46)
• Kit: Fully Loaded (Unlocks at level 42)

Let's start with the muzzle. You'll want to equip the Recoil Booster for this one, as it adds +2 to fire rate while only decreasing -1 Accuracy, which is a decent trade off.

Let's move onto the barrel. We opted for the Krausnick 317MM 04B, which is highly accurate and controllable while reducing scope sway and gun bob. Both sprint to fire speed and hip fire accuracy are hit as a result, but not by much.

The optic is up for preference - we've found the Slate Reflector to be a well rounded option for the MP40, but again, your choice.

In the stock slot, we went for the Krausnick 33M Folding. With a -1 cost to initial accuracy and recoil, you're getting +2 to sprint to fire speed and +1 movement speed.

The Hand Stop attachment makes for an optimal choice in terms of the underbarrel. It adds +1 to recoil control and +1 accuracy, while only decreasing -1 of hip fire accuracy.

For the magazine, you can't go wrong with the 9MM 64 Round Drums attachment, which is the only one to increase the mag up to 64 rounds. It has penalties to ADS speed, reload quickness and movement speed, but it's worth the inclusion.

Then, Lengthened makes for a great ammo type as it adds +3 to bullet velocity, complimenting the muzzle.

As for the rear grip, we went for Fabric Grip to balance out some of the aforementioned choices' cons, as it adds +1 to ADS speed, +1 to sprint to fire speed and +1 to hip fire recoil recovery. It decreases -1 accuracy, but it's a good choice all around.

When it comes down to proficiency, Brace will help you to add +1 initial accuracy and recoil.

Lastly, we opted for Fully Loaded in the kit category, making you start with maximum reserve ammo.

For the STG44, we recommend opting for E.O.D., as it will help to mitigate damage from non-killstreak explosives and fire.

We recommend opting for Overkill as the second perk. On this occasion we went for the STG44 as our secondary choice. For anyone who suddenly shows up far from you, switching to this to better focus on long range is a must have. But again, it's opt to you.

For the third perk, we went for Amped over the others to ensure that you're switching between the two weapons as swiftly as possible.

Lastly, the Heartbeat Sensor is a perfect companion to prepare yourself ahead of time or track anyone who dared to escape from your line of sight. In case anyone manages to sneak past your vicinity, however, having a Claymore placed near you should provide for a helping hand when needed.
