Warframe's mech-based Operation: Orphix Venom update now available on consoles
Play to unlock 45th Warframe, Lavos.
Digital Extremes' free-to-play shooter Warframe is continuing its ceaseless expansion on PlayStation 5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Switch with the arrival of latest update Operation: Orphix Venom, following its launch on PC toward the end of last year.
Operation: Orphix Venom is described as a "first-of-its-kind survival event" designed for between one and four players, and sees Tenno leaving their Warframes and slipping into something a little roomier - in this case, a giant, stomping Necramech - to once again battle it out against the race of AI beings known as the Sentient.
Players will be loaned a Necramech for the duration of the event (which features three difficulty tiers with associated rewards) and, by doing repeated runs of Operation: Orphx Venom, can earn valuable upgrades known was Arcanes, alongside new alchemist Warframe Lavos - the 45th to be added to the game - who's detailed more thoroughly in the video below.
It's worth noting that players won't be able to access Operation: Orphix Venom until they've completed two previously released quests: The War Within and Heart of Deimos. Additionally, be aware this is a time-limited event running until 8pm UK time on 22nd February, meaning you probably shouldn't hang about if you want to make the most of it.
Digital Extremes adds that those playing during the first three weeks of Operation: Orphix Venom on consoles will earn double Affinity, and anyone gifting their Lavos to a friend will receive a Lavos Orbiter decoration for their efforts.
