Plus details on Jirachi's arrival and Global Challenge Ultra bonuses.
Starting next month, Unova region Pokémon will finally start appearing in Pokémon Go as part of the Ultra Bonuses, rewarding players for completing all of the Global Challenges during the Pokémon Go Fest event.
Gen 5 Pokémon confirmed so far include: Klink, Lillipup and Patrat. Klink can be found in raids as well as in the wild, and shiny versions of all three can be encountered.
On Twitter, Pokémon Go has revealed a video with images of the Unova starters - Snivy, Oshawott and Tepig - suggesting they'll also be making an appearance in next month's update.
Mewtwo with the special move Psystrike will also appear in five-star raid battles, and players will have their first chance to catch a shiny Mewtwo.
That all kicks off on the 16th until the 23rd September, but before then from 2nd to 9th September, trainers will be able to make some progress on their Johto Pokédexes.
Unown forms U, L, T, R and A can be hatched from 10km eggs, and the legendary dogs Raikou, Entei and Suicune will return to raids. There'll also be a chance to catch shiny Sentret and shiny Gligar.
From the 9th to the 16th September, regional Pokémon Farfetch'd, Mr. Mime and Tauros will hatch from 7km eggs, and there's a chance to hatch these as shinies too. As well as this, all Deoxys forms will make an appearance in raid battles.
And last, but certainly not least, a brand new research mission to catch yourself a Jirachi has started today. If you've already managed to get your hands on the mythical wish Pokémon, completing the research will reward you with candy to power it up. If not, we've whipped up a guide on the Jirachi quest steps to make it that much easier for you.
