Mega Kangaskhan is the Mega Evolved form of Kangaskhan, a Gen 1 Pokémon that has proven rather elusive over the years in Pokémon Go.

Kangaskhan is a regional exclusive Pokémon, generally only found in Australasia. However, every once in a while, Kangaskhan and Mega Kangaskhan can be fought in raids in around the world.

If you beat it, you will have the opportunity to catch it. And if you have a Kangaskhan with enough Mega Energy in your storage, you will be able to add Mega Kangaskhan to your Pokédex. However, do to this, you will need to know Mega Kangaskhan’s counters and weaknesses in Pokémon Go.

Mega Kangaskhan counters and weaknesses in Pokémon Go

The fastest way to collect Mega Kangaskhan Energy is to defeat one in a Mega Raid. Below you’ll find the counters and weaknesses for Mega Kangaskhan to help you achieve this:

Kangaskhan type – Normal
Kangaskhan is weak against – Fighting
Kangaskhan is resistant to – Ghost
Kangaskhan Mega counters – Mega Rayquaza is your best bet, purely because it is stronger than any of the Mega Fighting types in the game at the moment. If you don’t have one, Mega Blaziken with Counter and Focus Blast, or Mega Alakazam with Counter and Focus Blast are your go-to options here.
Kangaskhan counters – Terrakion with Sacred Sword is better than any of the Fighting-type Megas in Pokémon Go right now. Failing that, your next best options are Keldeo, Lucario, Conkeldurr, Galarian Zapdos (if you’re lucky enough to have one), Pheromosa or Machamp.
Number of players to beat Mega Kangaskhan – Mega Kangaskhan is not a strong Pokémon. Two to three Trainers bringing optimal Level 40 counters should be totally fine.
Tactics – If you don’t have Mega Rayquaza, a team of Sacred Sword Terrakion will help you breeze this boss. Failing that, just bring your best Fighting-type Pokémon. Counter is the best Fast move, followed by Double Kick (Terrakion) and Low Kick (Keldeo).

Kangaskhan Moveset in Pokémon Go

Kangaskhan, like every Pokémon in Pokémon Go, can use a variety of Fast and Charged Moves. But the point is moot because both Kangaskhan and Mega Kangaskhan are awful Pokémon, and you really don’t want to use them in battle.

If, however, you’re determined to know the best Kangaskhan moveset, we recommend Low Kick and Stomp. Please don’t do this to your phone when you inevitably lose as a result of using this terrible Pokémon.

Everything we know about Kangaskhan in Pokémon

The Parent Pokémon, Kangaskhan, is an unusual geographical mashup, taking the iconic Australian marsupial, the kangaroo, and giving it a Mongolian flare, thanks to both Pokémon’s laminar-esque armor plating and the 'khan' at the end of its name (the title for chief or ruler — think Genghis Khan). Other than Genghis 'birthed' the Mongol empire, we’re not sure what other crossover there may be here — and certainly not with kangaroos.

Also, interestingly, both male and female Kangaskhan seem to exist, as noted by early Pokédex entries from the main-series games pointing out that females raise their offspring in a pouch on its belly. However, males are never seen, let alone caught.
