Pok¨Śmon Go Kanto Celebration event research quest: How to complete each quest task and field research
Everything you need to know about the Kanto Celebration, including which Collection Challenges you can still complete.
The Kanto Celebration event in Pokémon Go continues the Gen 1 celebrations from the Pokémon Go Tour: Kanto event.
Not only is there the Kanto Celebration Event timed research quest and a number of exclusive field research tasks for you complete, but a number of the Collection Challenges from the Pokémon Go Tour: Kanto event will also be running throughout the event as well.
These Collection Challenges will only be available for players who purchased a ticket for the event, but, if you did so, you'll have until Sunday, 28th February at 7:59pm (local time) to complete them.

'Kanto Celebration Event' Step 1 of 4'
- Power up Pokemon 5 times - Paras encounter
- Transfer 6 Pokemon - Geodude encounter
- Catch 20 Pokemon - Rhyhorn encounter
Rewards: 3 Razz Berries, 40 Venusaur Mega Energy and a Onix encounter
'Kanto Celebration Event' Step 2 of 4
- Defeat 3 Team GO Rocket Grunts - Ekans encounter

Kanto Celebration field research tasks and rewards in Pokémon Go explained
You can collect a number of exclusive field research tasks for the Kanto Celebration currently running in Pokémon Go. These tasks are collected by spinning PokéStops and can be completed once the event ends.
Here are the Kanto Celebration field research tasks and their rewards:
- Transfer 6 Pokémon reward - Magikarp encounter
- Earn 3 Hearts with your buddy reward -Clefairy or Jigglypuff encounter
- Catch 3 Pokémon reward - Magnemite, Doduo or Diglett encounter
- Win a raid reward - Snorlax encounter
- Defeat 2 Team GO Rocket Grunts reward - Nidoran - Female, Nidoran - Male, Zubat or Venonat encounter
- Hatch an egg reward - Omanyte or Kabuto encounter

Continuing Collection Challenges during the Pokémon Go Kanto Celebration event explained
A number of the Collection Challenges from Pokémon Go Tour: Kanto will be running throughout the Kanto Celebration event in Pokémon Go. You'll have until Sunday, 28th February at 7:59pm to complete these challenges.
It's important to note that these Collection Challenges will only be available if you've purchased a ticket for the event.

The Kanto Celebration event in Pokémon Go has a number of bonuses for you to take advantage of - most notably the opportunity to teach certain Pokémon their exclusive Community Day attack.
If you evolve an Ivysaur, Charmeleon, Wartortle, Pichu, Eevee or Dragonair during the event, then the resulting evolution will automatically learn it's special Community Day attack. For more information about these attacks, check out our dedicated Community Day guide.
Gen 1 Pokémon will also be dominating raids throughout the Kanto Celebration, with Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres and Mewtwo all appearing in five-star raids throughout the event.
Meanwhile, Pokémon from the Kanto region will be appearing more frequently in the wild, which is great for both completing those Pokémon Go Tour: Kanto Collection Challenges and the Kanto Pokédex itself.
The Pokémon appearing more frequently include:
- Bulbasaur
- Charmander
- Squirtle
- Weedle
- Pikachu
- Geodude
- Clefairy
- Psyduck
- Slowpoke
- Gastly
- Voltorb
- Magikarp
If the Gen 1 Pokémon you're looking for doesn't appear organically in the wild, then you might have better luck attracting it with Incense. The following Gen 1 Pokémon will can all be found using Incense during the Kanto Celebration:
- Caterpie
- Pidgey
- Spearow
- Poliwag
- Abra
- Seel
- Machop
- Krabby
- Exeggcute
- Horsea
- Goldeen
Finally, Gen 1 Pokémon, along with some baby Pokémon, will be hatching from 5km eggs. These Pokémon include:
- Oddish
- Bellsprout
- Tangela
- Dratini
- Pichu
- Elekid
- Magby
All of these bonuses make the Kanto Celebration the perfect time to fill in any missing entries you might have from the Gen 1 Pokédex!
The Max Out Season is here. The new global event, Wild Area, is nearly here and In the Wild is our lead-up event, which includes the global release of Toxel. You can now catch Dynamax Pokémon through Max Battles. First, however, you need to visit Power Spots to collect Max Particles and complete the To the Max! quest. Don't forget to try out Routes, Gift Exchange and Party Play while you're hunting down rare Pokémon, fighting in the Go Battle League or competing in PokéStop Showcases.
Kanto Celebration dates and times in Pokémon Go explained
The Kanto Celebration in Pokémon Go is a limited time event carrying on the celebrations from Pokémon Go Tour: Kanto. Unlike the previous event, however, all of Kanto Celebrations features will be available to every Pokémon Go player.
The Kanto Celebration event, and its timed research quest, will run from Sunday, 21st February at 10am (local time) to Saturday, 27th February at 8pm (local time).
The Collection Challenges continuing on from Pokémon Go Tour: Kanto will, however, be available till Sunday, 28th February at 7:59pm, giving you enough time to finish the challenges if you so wish.
The Kanto Celebration Event timed research quest consists of four steps, which each contain three individual challenges and you'll be rewarded for each challenge and full step you complete. Since this is a timed research quest, it will vanish once the questline is completed, so you need to complete it before the event ends if you wish to earn all of the rewards.
