Who let the Bidoof out?
The Bidoof Breakout event sees Bidoof invade Pokémon Go en mass. (Take that Team Go Rocket!)
During this event, you'll be able to teach Bidoof a variety of moves it can't normally use, but, best of all, include a Catch XP bonus which will increase throughout the breakout.
There will also be a variety of Bidoof themed field research tasks for you to collect by spinning PokéStops, which might help you find the newly released shiny Bidoof.
Keep on eye on the event, because there's a hint of something special happening on Monday, 28th June!

Field research for the Bidoof Breakout event in Pokémon Go explained
The Bidoof Breakout will run from Friday, 25th June at 10am (local time) to Thursday, 1st July at 8pm (local time).
During this event, you'll be able to collect a variety of event exclusive field research tasks by spinning PokéStops. If you keep any of these tasks in your field research collection, then you can complete it, and receive its reward, once the event ends.
Here are the Bidoof Breakout field research tasks:
- Catch a Bidoof reward - Bidoof encounter
- Catch 3 Bidoof reward - Bidoof encounter
- Catch 5 Bidoof reward - 10 PokéBalls

Catch XP bonuses during the Bidoof Breakout event in Pokémon Go
The Bidoof Breakout in Pokémon Go is an excellent time to gather some XP, because, throughout the event, you'll be able to enjoy an escalating catch XP bonus.
You can find the catch XP bonuses, along with when they're available, below:
- x2 Catch Bonus - Friday, 25th June at 10am (local time) to Saturday, 26th June at 11:59pm (local time)
- x3 Catch Bonus - Sunday, 27th June at 12am (local time) to Monday, 28th June at 11:59pm (local time)
- x4 Catch Bonus - Tuesday, 29th June at 12am (local time) to Wednesday, 30th June at 11:59pm (local time)
Everything else you need to know about the Bidoof Breakout in Pokémon Go
As the name suggests, the Bidoof Breakout in Pokémon Go sees Bidoof appear with increasing frequency throughout the event. It will also be available in one-star raids.
This event also sees the release of the shiny forms for Bidoof and Bibarel, alongside shadow Bidoof now being available in Team Go Rocket Grunt battles.
Throughout the breakout, you'll also be able to teach Bidoof a variety of moves it can't usually learn by using a Charged TM.
These moves will change throughout event - offering the following moves at the following times:
- Shadow Ball - Friday, 25th June at 10am (local time) to Saturday, 26th June at 11:59pm (local time)
- Thunderbolt - Sunday, 27th June at 12am (local time) to Monday, 28th June at 11:59pm (local time)
- Ice Beam - Tuesday, 29th June at 12am (local time) to Wednesday, 20th June at 11:59pm (local time)
Once the event ends, you'll still be able to teach Bidoof these moves via an Elite Charged TM.
Evolving a Bidoof during the breakout will also teach your new Bibarel Hyper Beam.
