UK Charts: Enter The Matrix holds the top spot
You hear that, Mr Anderson? That's the sound of a lot of units being sold.
Atari's movie tie-in Enter The Matrix is at number one in the UK sales charts again this week, and there are new top ten entries for EA's The Sims Superstar and Def Jam Vendetta, and Konami's Silent Hill 3.
Enter The Matrix tops all three console charts as well, taking the number one slot in the GameCube chart away from Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker after about a month at the top, but it slides down the PC chart - outsold there by The Sims Superstar, GTA Vice City and Championship Manager 4.
EA's The Sims continues to be one of the most popular franchises in gaming, and the original game is still at number five in this weeks charts, while the latest addition, The Sims Superstar, is at number two. The company completes a hat-trick of top ten games with Def Jam Vendetta, the EA Sports title which debuts at number four.
Konami's Silent Hill 3, released in Europe well ahead of its US launch for some reason, makes a fairly respectable start at number seven this week, and may well climb further in coming weeks on the back of critical acclaim and strong word of mouth.
Elsewhere in the chart, there's a fairly disappointing debut for Microsoft's innovative strategy title Rise of Nations, which enters at number 25, and an even worse one for Ubi Soft's release of massively multiplayer FPS game Planetside, which scrapes into the top 40 at number 36.
