Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 is rapidly approaching. We now have official confirmation from Epic Games on the start date of Fortnite Wilds, and the official name for the new season gives plenty of hints as to what's coming.
Over the past few days, official Fortnite announcements have been appearing across social media, with a full Cinematic trailer being released recently at Summer Games Fest.
Without further ado, we're going to show you the Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 release date and what to expect from the new season which is due today!

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 release time
When Epic Games released an official new season teaser trailer on Twitter, they confirmed that Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 is releasing on Friday 9th June.
At the time time of writing, we don't know the official release time for the new season update. However, a recent Tweet from @FortniteStatus has confirmed that they've already started to disable matchmaking to prepare for the new season release today.

What to expect in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3
It's release day for the next season of Fortnite, and alongside the social media hints that have been popping up, we now have an official confirmation on everything we can sink our teeth into in Fortnite Wilds.
Season Name
Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 is officially called 'Fortnite Wilds' which gives a huge thumbs up to a few of the leaks and rumours we've heard so far about the potential map setting for this season.
Theme/Setting
The middle of the Fortnite map is going to look very different this season. The reason? The entire center portion of the map has collapsed to reveal a thick, lush, and sometimes muddy jungle filled with ancient things to discover.
The grind rails in this area are made out of tree vines, meaning you can live out your Tarzan fantasy while sliding along the thick ropes to escape or ambush your enemies. Also, if you want to take a fast slide or escape being tracked by your enemies then you can visit the muddy parts of the jungle.
Need the high ground? Then you can now Ascend to the treetop canopies of the new jungle environment and pick off your enemies one by one from up there. If you're struggling to see them, then you can always rely on one the new Thermal DMR - this weapon makes it impossible for enemies to hide.
New Ride
Need a quick escape through the jungle but have no energy to run? Then you can always ride a Raptor! These prehistoric creatures can be tamed and ridden if you find them. However, you can always hatch your own little prehistoric pal through finding a Raptor Egg.
Transformers
Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 will feature a Transformers collaboration, though how large the collaboration will be is still unclear. So far, we know that the following Transformers items will be available:
- Optimus Prime Skin - Battle Pass.
- Optimus Primal Skin - Item Shop.
- Cybertron Cannon - New Weapon.
As we're only at the beginning of the new season, we're expecting to see more Transformers themed items appearing across the map and in the battle pass - perhaps even a themed event? Only time will tell.
New Skins
An official news article from Fortnite confirms the existence of all of the skins listed below, as well as the Optimus Primal one that will be available in the Item Shop at launch.

What would Fortnite be without weapons? Honestly, probably interesting, but the heart and soul of the battle royale is scrambling to find a weapon before an enemy gets there first.
There are five brand new weapons that you can get your hands on once Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 launches today, and one of them is part of the Transformers Collaboration. Here's a quick list of the new weapons:

Flower Power
There are even more new weapons in the form of...flowers? There are explosive Bomb Flowers, Stink Flowers, and Slurp Flowers to find across the new jungle enviroment that can be used to slow down enemies or to give you that little boost you need to get ahead.
Also, one flower is called a Hop Flower and you can use these to jump around. The best part is? There's no risk of fall damage if you use them!
Job Boards
Bounty Boards will look a little different this season, as they will now be in the form of Job Boards. These new boards will offer three types of Jobs, including Bounties, so interact with one when you find one and take your pick!

There are a handful of new and returning augments for Fortnite Wilds, here's a quick list of everything coming to and back to the new season.

- Medium Ammo Acquired - Instantly get medium ammunition and more each time you open a chest.
- Swift Shotgun Reload - Shotguns reload faster.
- Reckless Rifle Reload - Assault Rifles reload faster when you empty a mag.
- Sprint Lines - Use Ascenders, Grind Vines, Ziplines and Grind Rails to get a Slap effect.
- Shell Slide - You get Shotgun Shells when you slide.
- Primal Companion - When riding an animal you get thermal vision and gain health.
- Wildwasp Weaponry - You get a few Wildwasp Jars and each time you get a kill, you get another jar.
