Fortnite Victory Crown: How to get a Victory Crown in Fortnite
Those who would be king.
The Victory Crown is a new feature added to Solo, Duos, Trios and Squad matches in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1.
These crowns not only demonstrate your Fortnite prowess, but provide a useful bonus for earning the Chapter 3 Battle Pass skins.
First, however, you need to understand what a Victory Crown does and how to get a Victory Crown in Fortnite.

Victory Crown in Fortnite explained
Having a Victory Crown in a Fortnite match will provide you with bonuses XP during that particular match, making it perfect for climbing up the Battle Pass ranks.
If you manage to win a match holding a Victory Crown, you'll also earn the exclusive emote that shows off how many Crowned Victory Royales you've earned this season.
Thankfully, the Victory Crown does not take up a space in your inventory and, if you don't want the pressure, then you can just throw it away.
First, however, you have to actually get a Victory Crown in Fortnite.
How to get a Victory Crown in Fortnite
There are three ways to get a Victory Crown in Fortnite, with the first method providing you with the crown in the match you play after you've earned it.
To successfully earn a Victory Crown using this method, you need to reach a high rank in either a Solo, Dups, Trios or Squads match.
Here are the rankings you need to reach:
- Solo - Top four players
- Duos - Top two teams
- Trios - Top team
- Squads - Top team
If you're playing Dups, Trios or Squads, then all of the players in the team will receive a Victory Crown in their next match.
Once you've reached this ranking, even if you didn't win the previous match, you'll receive the Victory Crown in the next match you play.
The second method for finding a Victory Crown is to kill a player who is currently holding one.
These players have a faint glow and, when they kill another player, their name will have a golden shine when that kill is reported to indicate they currently have a Victory Crown. Using these signs, you should be able to spot, and hopefully kill, whichever players have Victory Crowns in your match.
Once the player is defeated, the Victory Crown will appear amongst the loot and have a golden shine to help you find it.
Finally, it is possible to throw away a Victory Crown if you don't want it, so this means you may just come across an abandoned Victory Crown. You may even find one another player has just decided not to pick up after a successful kill of the Victory Crown player.
This is not, however, a reliable method for getting a Victory Crown, so we highly recommend not relying on it.
