Expect to see fewer Pidgeys, Rattatas and Zubats in Pok¨Śmon Go
Daily bonuses are also on the way.
If you were a little fed up of seeing the same creatures in Pokémon Go, now's a good time to check back in.
Developer Niantic has reduced the rate of some of the game's more common creatures - Pidgeys, Rattatas and Zubats specifically - so other Pokémon get more of the spotlight.
Players are already reporting new spawn points for uncommon and rarer creatures since the announcement, so now's a good time to investigate what's near you to help expand your Pokédex.
Pidgeys and Rattatas have also been stripped from Eggs altogether - hopefully giving us a higher chance of finding Starter Pokemon in lower tier 2km Eggs - while Eevee will now only hatch from 5km eggs.
The reasonably common (but still useful to evolve) Eevee would be a frustrating find in 10km eggs previously, where you'd hope the more elusive Snorlax or Lapras would be waiting.
Niantic has been busy ramping up updates to the game in recent weeks; these changes come days after the game's first seasonal event concluded, which populated the world with more 'spooky' Pokemon and gave out increased Candy drops for Halloween, while medals were recently revamped to provide catch bonuses for specific elements.
Niantic also recently announced plans to add daily bonuses for the game, which will give players additional experience points and other rewards for the first catch and PokeStop visit of the day, and a little extra for maintaining a streak for an entire week.
