Watch live video from EGX on www.twitch.tv

Our live coverage of this event has finished.

Hellooooooooooo from chilly Earl's Court. We're set up in the exhibition centre's press room, which gives us a wonderful vantage point of the show floor as the first wave of people flood in.

Martin Robinson

Martin Robinson

EGX 2014 is GO GO GO.

Martin Robinson

Hey yo! Wesley, your friendly neighbourhood news editor here. I'm interviewing Ted Price, boss of Insomniac Games, for Xbox One exclusive Sunset Overdrive in a bit. Any questions, drop them in here.

Wesley Yin-Poole

By the way, anyone who misses recently deceased, sorry, *former* Eurogamer staffer Ellie Gibson (which is everyone, right?) can catch her compering comedy, chat and silly games at the Go 8 Bit stage on the show floor.

Oli Welsh

Messofanego: Hi, Wesley! Ask the developer how they're making the enemies interesting to fight because usually zombies are kind of boring, and how many of them are there compared to the human gangs?

Thanks for the question! Will do!

Wesley Yin-Poole

The final year of EGX at Earl's Court! The final year of this floor map! I have a red Staff t-shirt on and I will be loitering. Come say hi!

Robert Purchese

Robert Purchese

PSfourskin: my friend dave has gone. say hi if you see him for me

I will say hi to everybody in the hope that they are Dave.

Robert Purchese

Robert Purchese

A View From the Bridge.

Robert Purchese

Just come back from my first tour of the show floor. There are some video games out there! Relishing the opportunity to play Splatoon again, Bloodborne's looking great and I'm hearing good things about Dying Light.

Martin Robinson

There's been a few questions about next year's show - full details are coming this Monday, once we're done with this year's EGX!

Martin Robinson

Also, the dev sessions are up and running, kicking off with the new Dead Island game from them wot made Spec Ops: The Line.

Martin Robinson

I can't quite see there being a similar twist in Dead Island 2 as there was at the climax of the brilliant Spec Ops, but what it does have is zombies, and lots of things to cleave them with.

Martin Robinson

That bowling ball baseball bat!

Robert Purchese

Toaster05: Since when is Hollywood an island? I would have thought the developer would have taken the opportunity to distance itself from the stinker that was Dead Island.

Top pedantry! And you do kind of have a point. Also, though it wasn't critically well-received Dead Island did plenty well commercially.

Martin Robinson

Five million sales! If I remember correctly.

Robert Purchese

Funny hearing Hideo Kojima talking about maybe doing a Silent Hill game back in 2012.

Wesley Yin-Poole

There are 400 billion systems in Elite Dangerous. That sounds like... a lot.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Every single dot in the sky is a star in the game. I think Elite Dangerous is a big game.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Frontier has modelled the chemistry of space, so it corresponds to the real galaxy. Perhaps NASA should get in touch. Might learn something.

Wesley Yin-Poole

I'm pretty sure I'll crash my ship when I try to dock. Over and over again. Looks cool, though.

Wesley Yin-Poole

I reckon David Braben would have been a cool teacher. Not sure what subject. Is there a virtual spaceship GCSE?

Wesley Yin-Poole

I want to go to the centre of the galaxy, David. I don't care how hot it is or how few planets there are. It's the centre.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Quite fancy a bit of Elite: Dangerous on Oculus Rift. Worried it'll make me sick, though. I get sick sat in the back of a car, so...

Wesley Yin-Poole

ecco: @Wesley Yin-Poole Dont worry, in deep space you cant get motion sickness. ;)

Trust me, I'll find a way.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Well, that was fun! I'm interviewing David Braben tomorrow morning, by the way. So if you've got any questions, lump them in here and I'll do my best.

Wesley Yin-Poole

ecco: Q: Ask him again abut the prospect on Linux. I know it was said, "under consideration" some time last year or so. Id prefer to play a game about openness, freedom and infinity on a system reflection those values. ;)

Gotcha!

Wesley Yin-Poole

Humpage: Q: What's the largest type of ship they are planning on introducing and will there be an option for multiple players in one ship (Pilot and 1 or 2 Gunners for example in something like a gunship)

Received loud and clear.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Cherub007: Please ask DB if any games released in the past few years have changed any of his original ideas for E:D. Did the success of FTL or the failure of X Rebirth influence the direction he has taken with E:D in any way (for better or worse), or has he managed to stay true to the original vision of what he wanted to achieve?

Roger roger.

Wesley Yin-Poole

OlliOlli 2 has been announced! Here's Martin's preview.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Sure, I've been working hard...

Robert Purchese

Robert Purchese

Patchy Wi-Fi has meant I haven't been able to post. I watched the Dead Island 2 talk earlier and I also played the game on the show floor. I scored a whopping 103 kills - far and away better than anyone else, I should point out.

Robert Purchese

It's saturated, silly fun. It's a bit like Diablo in its hack-and-slash nature. Zombies are your toys - you never really fear for your character. Some wonderfully brutal weapons at your disposal.

Robert Purchese

I also watched the Dragon Age: Inquisition session. What art that game has! Those tarot cards are very nice. I played the multiplayer demo on the show floor as well.

Robert Purchese

It's a class-based team PVE experience, as with Mass Effect, but it's a slower affair. There's no tactical view, as in the single-player game (no pausing), and the whole experience is slow as a result - to compensate?

Robert Purchese

There aren't a wealth of abilities open to you but cross-class combos still exist and there's tactical nuance and depth. How much depth, though, I'm not sure.

Robert Purchese

Creative Assembly is up next, unveiling the next Total War game. I haven't seen anyone guess right yet, by the way.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Total War: Attila is the next Total War game. Expect a preview soon.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Oh, Family Trees are back. That got a round of applause there.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Attila sounds like an angry chap, going by that fancy computer-generated video. Oh, and he seems to have an uncanny resistance to flame.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Was Croydon a thing in 395 AD?

Wesley Yin-Poole

And here's Paul Dean's Total War: Attila preview, hot off the press.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Fire! Fire! Oh, no, wait, that's just in the game. Calm down everyone.

Wesley Yin-Poole

How about that? Total War: Attila is playable on the EGX show floor from 5pm.

Wesley Yin-Poole

The official Total War: Attila website says the game is out February 2015. That's only five months away. Only.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Right, time for Creative Assembly's other game, now, Alien Isolation. Hopefully they keep the lights on. Ahem.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Wow, nice puns Bertie. Well done.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Those puns are very Bertie, by the way. I know, because I sit opposite him at work. He never shuts up, to be honest.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Back on topic, I've played Alien Isolation, and it's proper hard and proper scary. Not sure I'll be able to take the stress for a whole game, to be honest.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Bertie: I don't think it's fair to say that I don't shut up. I just don't leave any silences.

There are so many double negatives in that sentence that I don't know what not to think.

Wesley Yin-Poole

I watched Alien on a plane recently, and it's still brilliant. Intense, atmospheric and brilliant. Personally, I'm delighted there's a proper Alien horror game in the works.

Wesley Yin-Poole

I watched Prometheus again recently and reckon it was a better film than Alien, which I also saw recently

Martin Robinson

The most disturbing sound in Alien is that bit when the alien bursts out of John Hurt's chest (spoiler). Crunch, scream, blood. Nightmare.

Wesley Yin-Poole

I'm saying that just to be contrary, but still - Prometheus is proper sci-fi with grand themes. Alien is some people on a ship running away from a 12 foot willy.

Martin Robinson

Taxi for Martin Robinson, please.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Toaster05: Martin Robinson = officially mental

QFT

Wesley Yin-Poole

I'd like to fall asleep to that music. Would do well for my deep sleep.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Alien Isolation has to set a Guinness World Record for the most time spent crouching in a video game.

Wesley Yin-Poole

It's the thighs. The Ripleys have always had strong thighs.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Have they recorded the sound of the player soiling themselves?

Wesley Yin-Poole

Right, up next, is Never Alone, which is getting a lot of people excited at Eurogamer.

Wesley Yin-Poole

This is the game The Last Guardian wishes it was. OH SICK BURN.

Wesley Yin-Poole

repeater: Am I the only one for whom the audio sounds like it's played through a tremolo pedal set to "Slowdive"?

Refresh - worked for me.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Alaska a few questions when this is over.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Never Alone looks lovely. Inuit!

Wesley Yin-Poole

The impression I get is everyone in Alaska is working on Never Alone.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Sorry, that's not the top of the world. As everyone knows, the top of the world is Beyond the Wall.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Actually, scratch that. The top of the world is Tiger Tiger in Croydon.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Never Alone out 4th November 2014 - the same day as Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. Polar opposites.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Polar opposites? Anyone? Chilly response...

Wesley Yin-Poole

Messofanego: Boo to Wesley's puns! Hiss!

/cry

Wesley Yin-Poole

In all seriousness, Never Alone looks great. It's doing something most video games never even consider.

Wesley Yin-Poole

oliverlittle: I thought your pun was delightful Wesley ;)

You can stay. No taxi for you.

Wesley Yin-Poole

That's how amazing EGX is: an actual real life archaeologist came to a developer session.

Wesley Yin-Poole

And that's a wrap! Thanks for checking out EGX developer sessions today. We're back tomorrow from 12pm UK time with a Eurogamer Let's Play Live, starring Gav Murphy and Ian Higton. I'm not sure what they're playing, but the show guide tells me it's "something incredible". Sounds HOT.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Yep, I've been working hard...

Robert Purchese

Robert Purchese

Right! Wipe that sleep from your eyes, we've got EGX day two to content with. And it's another busy schedule of developer sessions, which we'll be live reporting right here.

Wesley Yin-Poole

At 12pm we've got Eurogamer Let's Play Live, starring Gav Murphy and Ian Higton. 1pm The Division, Ubisoft's new IP. 2pm Heat Signature, from talented indie developer Tom Francis. 3pm Until Dawn, Supermassive's PlayStation exclusive. 4pm Company of Heroes 2: Ardennes Assault from the RTS specialist Relic Entertainment. 5pm Nuclear Throne with Vlambeer's Rami Ismail. And closing the day is Battlefield Hardline, with Visceral Games.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Tom Phillips

Behold! A rare view of the EGX show floor without the 80,000+ folk here this weekend.

Tom Phillips

And a belated hello from me! I'll be chatting to some of the folk behind Far Cry 4 and The Division today - shout if you have any burning questions about either game and I'll try to get them answered.

Tom Phillips

jonharrispro: Are the sessions from yesterday archived somewhere? Need to catch up.

You can find the sessions archived on the new EGXTV channel on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/egxtv

Oli Welsh

Played some Splatoon earlier! That game is clever and fun. Nintendo's stand is really buzzing, too, with the Smash Bros and Mario Kart competitions and some top-drawer merch. I also heard an amazing story about the Amiibo figurines which, sadly, I cannot repeat...

Oli Welsh

Hello! Right, let's check this Heat Signature developer session out, shall we?

Wesley Yin-Poole

When I hear Heat Signature, I think of the Predator movies. What do you think of?

Wesley Yin-Poole

According to science, what would happen if you were chucked out of an air lock in space? Would your head implode?

Wesley Yin-Poole

This looks like a lot of fun. Cool emergent gameplay messing you up at any point.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Kill the ship! Kill it!

Wesley Yin-Poole

Asteroids meets Pac-Man. Think I'll remember that, for the next time we cover Heat Signature.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Bertie, asking the tough questions once again: When is Heat Signature coming out?

Wesley Yin-Poole

Tom Francis' answer: I don't know.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Right, that's Heat Signature done and dusted. Up next, Until Dawn. Until then!

Wesley Yin-Poole

Right, Until Dawn time! They're saying everyone can die. I kind of hope everyone dies.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Off topic, but we've just published our interview with David Braben for Elite: Dangerous. Answered a few of your questions, too.

Wesley Yin-Poole

smenj: Stream's down :( Why'd it have to go down the moment the thing I wanted to see started!?

Should be back up now, sorry for the hiccough.

Martin Robinson

Ooh, swears. I hope none of you here are under 18.

Martin Robinson

Anyway - Until Dawn has made a remarkable journey from looking pretty horrendous into something of a guilty pleasure.

Martin Robinson

It's a bit like David Cage, but with the language of horror swapped in for the language of... Actually, what are David Cage's games about?

Martin Robinson

smenj: This looks like playing through a bad, incredibly clichéd horror movie, which is pretty much exactly what I wanted.

Yup, I love the Cabin in the Woods style direction they've taken here.

Martin Robinson

HewsonConsultantsLtd: Not really on topic here, but just got home and wanted to say we had a great time at EGX. For us the From Bedrooms to Billions premier was particularly enjoyable and brought back a lot of memories, but also saw some great games on the show floor itself. Sega's Leftfield Collection had some really interesting stuff and first experience of Oculus DK2 on Omega Agent was impressive. Resolution much better and motion sickness much, much less of an issue than DK1. :)

Thanks for the kind words. I watched Bedrooms to Billionaires last night too and really enjoyed it.

Martin Robinson

This is plenty more than we've seen before. There's a mega Saw vibe, which is fair enough I guess. I don't really get torture porn, but a lot of people do.

Martin Robinson

Bertie looks shaken!

Martin Robinson

Bert stirred?

Wesley Yin-Poole

That's a wrap for Until Dawn. Next up it's Company of Heroes at 4pm.

Martin Robinson

Tom Phillips

That's me (on the left) with an awesome Kamek cosplayer. There's some amazing costumes on the show floor this year - earlier I spotted Gandalf the White eating a cone of chips.

Tom Phillips

Company of Heroes 2: Ardennes Assault developer session with Relic Entertainment kicks off at 4pm.

Wesley Yin-Poole

I love me a bit of Company of Heroes. And I love me a bit of Relic Entertainment. Dawn of War remains one of my favourite RTS games ever.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Here's our Company of Heroes 2 review, if you're wondering what Relic's Quinn Duffy is banging on about.

Wesley Yin-Poole

This is pretty cool - gameplay footage showing how the three companies available play differently.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Tanks, explosions and sweary soldiers - yep, it's definitely a Company of Heroes game.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Company of Heroes: Advanced Warfare. Now there's a thought.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Right, that's Company of Heroes 2: Ardennes Assault done and dusted, a bit like the German artillery. Up next, Vlambeer's Nuclear Throne.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Nuclear Throne's up next, providing Vlambeer's Rami has made it to the developer session room.

Martin Robinson

Rami provided one of the more colourful moments last year when he turned up with about two minutes to spare before his session. His presentations are always excellent, though - free-form, erratic but full of energy.

Martin Robinson

Also, Vlambeer pretty much make the best games out there.

Martin Robinson

Ooooooh, it's OliOli Welsh! Hello Oli!

Martin Robinson

Nuclear Throne, if you haven't checked it out, is worth checking out. Basically.

Martin Robinson

Rami's talks always go into super-detail into Vlambeer's processes, which is always quite enlightening.

Martin Robinson

Still working hard...

Robert Purchese

Robert Purchese

I've played OlliOlli 2 today, Bloodborne, The Order and Until Dawn. The latter is like Heavy Rain meets SAW. It made me swear very loudly. The Order's main character looks like David Beckham. Bloodborne is Dickens gone mad, with great mundane accents. And OlliOlli 2 has sick manuals. There we go: a day digested.

Robert Purchese

I played Elite: Dangerous on Oculus Rift DK2 today, which was brilliant. But I felt a bit sick. Not cut out for flying spaceships, I reckon.

Wesley Yin-Poole

SuperSoupy:
I played Elite: Dangerous on Oculus Rift DK2 today
What stand is this on? Is it on the Oculus stand or the Elite stand? Or both? Wanna know so that I can head straight there on the weekend :-)

It's on the Elite: Dangerous stand. Go nuts, it's wicked.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Right, Battlefield: Hardline developer session begins at 6pm. I'll be here. Join me.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Sunnyvale sounds like the nicest place on earth. Bet it never rains.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Well done Steve! Yes, Action Man over here thanks.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Although I remember it as Action Force! Action Force! International Heroes!

Wesley Yin-Poole

Wikipedia tells me there was an Action Force video game. Before my time. Looks cool.

Wesley Yin-Poole

I remember promising my parents an Amiga 1200 would make me smarter at school. Never did a minute of homework on it.

Wesley Yin-Poole

I saw a horror movie when I was a kid called The Gate. Gave me nightmares for years. Terrifying.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Not the Genesis, Steve, the Mega Drive. Thanks.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Sega had a music label? I didn't know that! Must know more...

Wesley Yin-Poole

Ah, Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain. Great game, that one.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Steve was audio director at Crystal Dynamics - didn't know that either.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Sega Music Group at Tower Records. Is that it?

Wesley Yin-Poole

The story of Majestic sounds amazing. Might explore that one.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Now on to Dead Space. Loved the first game. Flawed, but so atmospheric. Resident Evil in space.

Wesley Yin-Poole

I wonder if we'll ever see another Dead Space. Wouldn't mind a proper full on next-gen Dead Space. At all.

Wesley Yin-Poole

The impression I get is Visceral is really keen to get feedback on Battlefield: Hardline, which is a good thing.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Right, that's it. Lovely to get some insight from Steve about his career. We'll be back tomorrow with live streams for more developer sessions, including Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Evolve and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Be there or be square.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Good morning! We're back (a few of us with sore heads after last night's festivities) on the EGX developer session live reporting bandwagon. Today we've got Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Evolve and The Witcher 3 among others. It all starts at 12pm. Let's go!

Wesley Yin-Poole

The Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare EGX developer sessions starts in 10 minutes. Sledgehammer Games' Glen Schofield will take us through the game's development.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Good quality selfie there, Glen, nice work.

Wesley Yin-Poole

230 people at Sledgehammer Games. That's a lot, but nowhere near as big as some studios out there. Rockstar North is, what, 700 or something?

Wesley Yin-Poole

If in 45 years we don't have hover boards I'll riot. Although I'll be pretty old by then, so a slow, considered riot.

Wesley Yin-Poole

I think Glen is the only video game developer in the world who has thought about the asphalt of the future.

Wesley Yin-Poole

This is what I hope is the soldier of the future.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Kevin Spacey calls himself The Detective. But is he the True Detective?

Wesley Yin-Poole

I want my own Exo suit. Quite fancy going clubbing in Croydon wearing one of those.

Wesley Yin-Poole

A walking tank with wheels. Also potentially useful in Croydon. Probably.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Right, that's a wrap for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare developer session. See you all here in a bit.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Shadow of Mordor developer session starts at 2pm.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Shadow of Mordor has had positive reviews, which has made me go from meh to hmm. Think I'll check it out.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Bob Roberts? So, Bobby Bobby?

Wesley Yin-Poole

Bob Roberts really knows his Middle-earth, doesn't he? I know the Shire, that horrible big tower and that volcano. That's about it.

Wesley Yin-Poole

The Nemesis is the thing that's really catching my eye with this game. It sounds different and interesting.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Here's our Shadow of Mordor review, by the way. Worth a read when you have the chance.

Wesley Yin-Poole

This game reminds me of Croydon, for some reason.

Wesley Yin-Poole

The Funny One. Maybe he'll tell us a joke.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Looks quite good, this. Lots of space to try different strategies.

Wesley Yin-Poole

I see a lot of other games in Shadow of Mordor: Assassin's Creed, Rocksteady's Batman, but it looks distinctive.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Good question! You don't kill Sauron, obviously, because Lord of the Rings. Answer: play it and find out why he's a big evil burning eye in the films.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Right, thanks Bob. Nice session on Shadow of Mordor there. We'll be back for The Magic Circle with Jordan Thomas at 3pm.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Jordan Thomas is on stage. JORDAN THOMAS!

Martin Robinson

Who is Jordan Thomas?

Martin Robinson

Oh, he's the guy wot did Fort Frolic on the original BioShock, The Cradle in Thief and worked on BioShock Infinite.

Martin Robinson

And he's now working on The Magic Circle, his new project.

Martin Robinson

The Magic Circle has one of the most mental, compelling premises - it's set inside a piece of vaporware, and you're able to fix the game from the inside.

Martin Robinson

And, as expected, the game looks totally mental in action. The world's there for you to manipulate, with creatures able to be programmed to fight by your side.

Martin Robinson

For an experimental game, it's kind of fitting that so much of the game is about experimentation.

Martin Robinson

Jordan's gang of AI friends looks mad. This game is screwing with my head a little bit.

Martin Robinson

He's gone totally meta knight here - The Magic Circle is a meditation on the relationship between developers and players. I guess it's kind of like if Charlie Kaufmann made a vidya gam.

Martin Robinson

Apologies for the slim updates - we're having some connection troubles here.

Martin Robinson

The Magic Circle looks eminently breakable, which is kind of the point.

Martin Robinson

Jordan says it's possible to push the systems within the game to breaking point.

Martin Robinson

And Jordan's wrapped. My head has melted a little from that.

Martin Robinson

NEXT! It's that Mike Bithell with his volume.

Martin Robinson

Right, we're off. It's Mike Bithell's Volume.

Wesley Yin-Poole

From what I know of Volume you play a modern day Robin Hood.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Reminds me of the VR missions from Metal Gear Solid, this.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Trolling Guards: the video game.

Wesley Yin-Poole

I think we all want to know when Volume is coming out. Someone should ask that.

Wesley Yin-Poole

We all love puns here at Eurogamer. Sometimes we spend hours arguing about them.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Mushrooms are awesome, is what I took from that bit there.

Wesley Yin-Poole

I think Mike was talking about Destiny there in the bit about the danger of hype.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Feel like it's worth sharing my Stealth vs stealth article from April, featuring Mike Bithell and Jordan Amaro, a designer at Kojima Productions working on Metal Gear Solid 5.

Wesley Yin-Poole

A big actor for the antagonist, eh? Wonder who that could be?

Wesley Yin-Poole

Yeah, Metal Gear VR missions. Thought so.

Wesley Yin-Poole

If someone uses the level editor to recreate the Metal Gear VR missions is that like pop eating itself?

Wesley Yin-Poole

There you go, out first half of 2015. That was Volume. Next at 5pm, the cool-looking Evolve.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Right, here we go. I haven't played Evolve yet, but I've heard good things about it. Looking forward to seeing what's what.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Ha! Someone stole Phil Robb's cue cards. How mean!

Wesley Yin-Poole

The Evolve concept pre-dates Left 4 Dead. By the time Evolve comes out it'll have been in development for three years.

Wesley Yin-Poole

One of the things I like about Evolve is the logo. You know, the E.V.OLVE one versus four thing. Very clever.

Wesley Yin-Poole

It looks like Phil Robb's beard has been in development for three years.

Tom Phillips

Evolve looks great, but I reckon you need real teamwork for it to be as fun as it can be. Worry a bit about playing with randoms.

Wesley Yin-Poole

I love playing the healer in class-based games. The problem is though, when things go wrong, everyone blames you. And when they go well, you just did your job, buddy.

Wesley Yin-Poole

The monsters are a griefer's dream, Phil says. So, they're for gits, then.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Phil has his cue cards!

Wesley Yin-Poole

Even the shoutcasters have massive beards. Is Turtle Rock a really cold office or something?

Wesley Yin-Poole

These maps look huge. Plenty of room for the monsters to fly about.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Right, so the monsters actually evolve mid-match. It's like leveling up then. Nice touch.

Wesley Yin-Poole

There is a lot going on in Evolve, and it sounds pretty complex. For some reason it's reminding me of a MOBA.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Yeah, I'm getting a big MOBA vibe from Evolve. It looks really interesting. Lots to sink your teeth into.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Martin stole Phil's cue cards. Lamp him, Phil.

Wesley Yin-Poole

"Pay to win sucks" gets a deserved round of applause. GG Phil.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Phil Robb sounds like a nice chap. Pretty down to earth.

Wesley Yin-Poole

More hunters? More classes? More monsters? Yeah, I'm pretty sure they will be added as DLC.

Wesley Yin-Poole

That's Evolve! Next up at 6pm, The Witcher 3.

Wesley Yin-Poole

The Witcher 3 looks great. Really looking forward to this one.

Wesley Yin-Poole

This CD Projekt chap is full of energy. Love it.

Wesley Yin-Poole

He said shazam! SHAZAM!

Wesley Yin-Poole

Geralt has lovely hair bounce while riding his horse.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Dead bodies rot and attract monsters in this game. Yeah, it's pretty detailed.

Wesley Yin-Poole

I can't think of a better-looking game in development than The Witcher 3. Visuals are pretty incredible.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Half the map? This game is big. Big, big, big.

Wesley Yin-Poole

I think he just confirmed kittens in The Witcher 3.

Wesley Yin-Poole

If game development doesn't work out for Damien at CD Projekt, there's always stand-up.

Wesley Yin-Poole

"Witchers shoot blanks." You learn something new every day.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Speaking of boats in The Witcher 3...

Wesley Yin-Poole

Right! Well done CD Projekt, and well done to all our developer session speakers. That's a wrap for EGX day three. Tomorrow we've got Dying Light, Lords of the Fallen and DayZ's own Dean Hall. See you then!

Wesley Yin-Poole

Welcome back to the final day of EGX 2014 and the final day of EGX at Earl's Court ever! Sad times.

Tom Phillips

But we've got another big day ahead of live sessions before the doors close and hopefully well before the wrecking balls and JCBs move in.

Tom Phillips

First up today is Dying Light, the new zombie survival game from Dead Island developer Techland. Watch it here in five minutes!

Tom Phillips

I played a bit of Dead Island and thought it was pretty fun in a fittingly braindead way. Happily though, Dying Light looks to be a more complex and smarter animal.

Tom Phillips

And we're off! Here's the lovely Maiciej Binkowski, he's lead game designer.

Tom Phillips

One of those more complex things about the game is the day and night cycle - after dark you become the prey.

Tom Phillips

We're being treated to a montage of gameplay now showing the differences between day and night. During the day you're pretty much free to wander around, climb tall cranes, smash zombies in the head with hammers etc. etc.

Tom Phillips

After dark things get a little more hairy.

Tom Phillips

Techland's dev team are watching this stream back at home in Poland, Maciej says. Hello Poland!

Tom Phillips

There's four-player co-op but you're able to wander off on your own and play around with your own sidequests. You can also set up little combat challenges for you and your friends - how many zombies can you slice and dice in under a minute?

Tom Phillips

Dying Light's PVP mode is named Be The Zombie. Surprise surprise, you're a zombie which can chomp on other players.

Tom Phillips

Other players are be able to detect you with some kind of spidey-sense. It looks like you'll have to prioritise quick, precise strikes - sticking around won't get you very far.

Tom Phillips

That wraps up Maciej's presentation - time for Q&A. Eurogamer's lovely Martin Robinson is on stage too. Fabulous beard.

Tom Phillips

Not as lush as the facial hair sported by the developers of Evolve yesterday, but still a fine animal. It's a solid 8/10.

Tom Phillips

You can turn the Be A Zombie mode off if you want. Or you can pick on specific friends to grief. Or you can just play and invade against randoms.

Tom Phillips

And that's a wrap! Coming up next at 2pm is a look at Hellblade, the lovely-looking new title from Enslaved developer Ninja Theory.

Tom Phillips

Right! Hellblade developer session stars in just under 10 minutes. For a refresh on Ninja Theory's next, check out our preview from Gamescom.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Ninja Theory, by the way, is the UK developer behind Heavenly Sword, Enslaved and the recent Devil May Cry game.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Whoops! Martin with the Team Ninja / Ninja Theory slip there. Don't worry, I've done it before and will probably do it again. A bit like Gamestop and Gamespot.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Ninja Theory says Hellblade isn't Heavenly Sword 2, but at first glance there are a lot of similarities. The obvious one is the name: Heavenly/Hell - Sword/Blade.

Wesley Yin-Poole

And I remember a lot of people thought the main character was from Heavenly Blade, too.

Wesley Yin-Poole

I really liked Ninja Theory's Devil May Cry. I know a lot of people had a problem with the redesigned Dante, but that never bothered me too much. Thought the combat was solid and the levels were fantastic.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Only 15 people working on Hellblade. That's low overhead, and that's why it doesn't need to sell to millions to be a success.

Wesley Yin-Poole

It's hard to get a sense of how Hellblade will play, which is understandable given it's still in the prototype phase.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Dominic Matthews reckons first Hellblade gameplay will be shown early 2015. Looking forward to it.

Wesley Yin-Poole

FAO Martin Robinson, from Twitch chat: "other guy look like had a very short sleep for a week or so" LOLZ

Wesley Yin-Poole

Hellblade is "console first on PS4". I imagine it's coming to Steam, too then.

Wesley Yin-Poole

Right, that's Hellblade done and dusted. Next up, Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham. I hear some new characters will be announced. Check back at 2pm.

Wesley Yin-Poole

A quick shout out to our lovely EGX video man Gav Murphy - on screen right now. He's been unsettling developers all weekend with the promise of delving into his mysterious prize sack.

Tom Phillips

We're about 10 minutes away from Lego Batman 3 and our first look at some new characters - including some obscure but awesome additions. I only have a passing knowledge of DC lore so excuse me while I just load up Wikipedia.

Tom Phillips

There's a large Lego version of the Flash on stage! And also Oli Welsh from this very website.

Tom Phillips

That Flash figurine is custom made and is worth about a grand, I'm reliably told. And someone may be about to win it!

Tom Phillips

And here's Arthur Parsons, game director. You may have seen him on this very stage last year for Lego Marvel Superheroes.

Tom Phillips

We're off to spaaaace in Lego Batman 3. It means lots of different DC lore and worlds, basically.

Tom Phillips

It's also Batman's 75th anniversary! 50 years less than Nintendo, if my poor mental logic serves correctly.

Tom Phillips

More than 150 characters - Justice League, League of Doom, Killer Croc, Solomon Grundy, Batcow, Crypto the Superdog. I'm probably spelling all of these wrongly.

Tom Phillips

Krypto the Superdog, not Crypto. Sorry Krypto.

Tom Phillips

Adam West appears throughout the game - he does some of the voiceovers and will need saving in various places.

Tom Phillips

We're watching new gameplay - Clark Kent can now summon up a handy Lego phone box to change into Superman.

Tom Phillips

Play as Wonder Woman and you'll hear her 1960s TV theme tune as she starts flying. Now we're seeing Beast Boy, who can change into a bird and a shark for air and water navigation.

Tom Phillips

Here come the new characters - Polka-Dot Man, who's a Bat villain. But of course you knew that.

Tom Phillips

There's a Lego bigfig of Kalibak. Deadshot is also in.

Tom Phillips

Music Meister, another Bat villain, attacks with a musical note-creating staff.

Tom Phillips

The final confirmation is Deathstroke, who of course was a major character in the recent Batman: Arkham Oranges.

Tom Phillips

Pre-order the game at GAME and you'll get a Plastic Man minifigure! A plastic man version of Plastic Man. Meta.

Tom Phillips

Now we're onto the Season Pass, which includes Zebra Batman and about a billion more characters should you get bored of the base 150.

Tom Phillips

And now we're onto the Q&A. Arthur is saying that there's now many open worlds instead of just one.

Tom Phillips

Some people at Traveller's Tales get paid just to build things out of Lego all day. Which is a job I would want to do.

Tom Phillips

The Batman Beyond pack is a free, timed-exclusive on PlayStation 3 and 4 in Europe. But you'll also be able to buy the pack in December on Xbox 360/One, and on PS3/4 outside of Europe then too.

Tom Phillips

And that's just about it for the session - although Arthur is now giving away the £1000 exclusive Flash model to a randomly-selected member of the audience. Lucky guy!

Tom Phillips

So that's that for Lego, and just a quick reminder that sadly due to illness the Lords of the Fallen session has been cancelled.

Tom Phillips

We're back at 4pm with a look at Tearaway Unfolded, the new PS4 version of Media Molecule's papercraft Vita platformer.

Tom Phillips

Tearaway's up in five minutes, the penultimate show of EGX 2014!

Martin Robinson

Wow, Oli looks different.

Martin Robinson

We're getting a live demo of the game, courtesy of the very, very lovely Rex Crowle.

Martin Robinson

That's how to style out a slight glitch in your demo.

Martin Robinson

Apologies for the radio silence - it turns out three coffees aren't even enough to give me strength after the past few days.

Martin Robinson

Tearaway's wrapped, and we're about to head into our final session EVER at Earls Court with Dean Hall at 5pm.
