DriveClub is getting a Hardcore mode in February, game director Paul Rustchynsky has announced.
Rustchynsky made the reveal on Twitter, where he noted that this new mode will remove traction control, stability control and other assists. He also embedded the following 30-second video showing the new mode in action.
DriveClub received middling praise upon its botched launch, but developer Evolution has done a commendable job of fine-tuning its much hyped racer. Our Martin Robinson noted that DriveClub had come a long way between its October 2014 release and last summer, then had improved even further with its DLC bikes add-on.
"DriveClub Bikes is a very pleasant surprise, another fascinating chapter in the exceptional turnaround of Evolution's game," Robinson wrote of Evolution's recent expansion in his DriveClub Bikes review. "Don't expect it to change any of the fundamentals - multiplayer races are still overly aggressive, and the progression system still feels stunted and dumb - but do expect to see the work of a developer that's now firing on all cylinders. I can't wait to see what they do next."
