Beatles game gets date and price
And instruments based on John's, Paul's etc.
Harmonix's new Beatles-themed music game has been given a price and release date.
It's also got an official title - The Beatles: Rock Band. A placeholder website is now up and running, showing not much more than the numbers "09 09 09".
Rolling Stone confirms that's when the game will launch - 9th September 2009. What's more, the date applies to North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand, so us lot won't have to wait for once.
There's no timed platform exclusivity nonsense, either; The Beatles: Rock Band will be available for Wii, PS3 and Xbox 360 on the same day.
A new range of instruments is planned, based on the real-life guitars, basses and drums used by John, Paul, George and Ringo. You'll also be able to play using regular Rock Band instruments.
According to Edge Online, the standalone game will cost USD 60 in North America (GBP 43 / EUR 48), and the new guitars will cost USD 100 (GBP 70 / EUR 80) a piece. The premium bundle - which will presumably include all the instruments plus the game - will cost USD 250 (GBP 175 / EUR 200).
Exclusive content is promised for anyone pre-ordering the game, but it's not yet clear what this might be. Nor is there any sign of a European price, but we're on the case.
