Batman: Arkham City comics announced
Mini-series to plug gap between games.
A new comic book mini-series will bridge the gap between Batman: Arkham Asylum and its impending sequel, Arkham City, publisher Warner Bros. has announced.
Written by Paul Dini - who penned both games and various Batman: The Animated Series episodes - and drawn by the games' concept artist Carlos D'anda, the six-comic Batman: Arkham City series picks up one year after Arkham Asylum, filling us in on how the new Arkham City prison comes into being.
The first two issues of the six-comic run will be available in May, both digitally and in ye olde paper format, priced at $2.99 each. We're checking with Warner for UK pricing.
And that's not all. The full comic release will alternate with eight-page digital-first interludes focusing on The Dark Knight's various foes as they vie for power inside Arkham City. These morsels will set you back $0.99.
"The digital first stories offer a unique incentive for fans to experience interesting and exciting stories beyond the pages in the printed comic," explained Jim Lee, DC Comics Co-Publisher. "The additional pages will serve as interludes within the regular issues and won't be necessary to follow the main story of the mini-series.
"Fans will also be able to read these interludes in print later, when we publish the collected edition," he added.
The main event - the Rocksteady-developed game upon which all this is based - is due out on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in the Autumn.
