Pok¨Śmon Let's Go Pewter City, Brock Gym Battle and the Museum - available Pok¨Śmon, items and trainers
Our complete Pok¨Śmon Let's Go walkthrough and guide to your big adventure with Pikachu or Eevee.
Pewter City, Brock's Gym battle and, on your return later on the Museum, are your next locations and objectives, and follow on from Viridian City in your quest through Pokémon Let's Go's main story.
Below, we'll cover any and all of the obtainable Pokémon, item locations, trainers and their squads that you might encounter in the area, as well as walking you through any key steps of the story along the way.
We've also opted to break out walkthrough pages down into sections, referring to each of your visits to a given location, seeing as you often backtrack or revisit various places in your quest to become Champion! Where applicable, we'll split our page into one section for each visit, and of course if there are any, clearly mark any spoilers, too!

Pokémon Let's Go: Pewter City and Brock Gym Battle - available Pokémon, items and trainers
Entering Pewter City your rival will spot you right away for a quick chat, but no battle for now.
Talk to the lady in the top left of the area and look after her Slowpoke while she goes to the museum to earn a Big Pearl. Otherwise, outside of battling at the Gym, the main attraction is the Museum - detailed in the section below. The main part of the Museum is open, but come back when you have Chop Down to access the right hand side of the Museum.
Available Items
Item | Location |
---|---|
5x Potions | From Rival as you enter the City |
Pewter Crunchies | From seller in Pokémon Center - only one per day |
Big Pearl | Look after lady's Slowpoke |
X Defense | Walk through the bushes to the left of the Pokémon Centre to reach it |
Boulder Badge | Defeat Brock |
TM01 Headbutt | Defeat Brock |
5x Great Balls | None |
You need Type Matchups to enter the Gym (Grass or Water Pokémon in your party), which shouldn't be an issue, especially after you probably caught a Bulbasaur back in Viridian Forest!
Trainers and Battles - Pewter City Gym!
Trainer Name | Pokémon | Level |
---|---|---|
Picnicker Amara | Geodude | 7 |
Camper Liam | Geodude | 7 |
Gym Leader Brock | Geodude Onix | 11 12 |
After beating Brock, the legendary Pokémon Trainer named Blue - remember him from the original games?! - says hello and gives you some Great Balls, when he realises you've already beaten the Gym and clearly don't need any tips!
Head back to our main Pokémon Let's Go walkthrough and guide hub for all our pages in one place, including detailed, step-by-step help for tough spots like Cerulean Cave, and the Elite Four, plus tough dungeons like Silph Co., Seafoam Islands and Victory Road. Otherwise, take a peek(achu) at our Pokémon Let's Go TM list and all TM locations, Let's Go's starter locations and how to get Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle, along with how to get Mew in Let's Go, and how to get Meltan in Let's Go and Go too. Beyond that we also explain how connect Pokémon Go to Let's Go on Nintendo Switch and transfer Pokémon, Catching, catch combos, and how to catch Pokémon, a quick collection of our best Pokémon Let's Go tips and tricks to get you off to a great start, and finally what we know about the Pokémon Pass app distribution event too.
Pokémon Let's Go: Pewter City Museum Old Amber
The Museum is interesting enough to just poke around in, but there's just one thing you can actually get here. This section deals with the part of the Museum that's accessible after you've learned the Secret Technique Chop Down - so there may be some minor spoilers below!
That said, it's a good one: head into the Museum via the right-hand entrance, by chopping down the skinny tree, and talk to the Scientist by the glass case. He'll ask you to do him a favour: sneak the piece of Old Amber he has there out of the Museum, and take it down to the lab on Cinnabar Island!
If you do, you'll be able to speak to someone there who can convert that Old Amber into an extremely rare Pokémon: Aerodactyl!
Available Items
Item | Location |
---|---|
Old Amber | From the Scientist by the glass case in the Museum. |
That's everything here for now, so continue on to Route 3 for the next steps in your quest, or cycle back to our main Pokémon Let's Go walkthrough and guide hub for all the other pages we have like this.
