Paramount slags off Tomb Raider
'Clearly our flawless film is being dragged down by the game's problems!'
Producers of the new and rubbish Tomb Raider movie have lashed out at the developers of the new and rubbish Tomb Raider game, blaming the poor state of The Angel of Darkness for The Cradle of Life's debut at fourth place at the US Box Office last weekend with sales of $21.7 million, well below the original film's opening weekend. "The only thing we can attribute that to is that the gamers were not happy with the latest version of the 'Tomb Raider' video game, which is our core audience," according to Paramount distribution president Wayne Lewellen, whose universally slagged film is obviously not the problem. Hey Paramount, at least Eidos made it to No.1!
Wait a minute - Paramount? Aren't they owned by Viacom? And didn't Activision just sue Viacom for their inability to make compelling Star Trek movies and television series? Not that one could possibly have anything to do with the other, but it is quite amusing to see both sides blaming one another for their respective incompetence these days.
