Eidos acts with Just Cause
Signs deal with Swedish dev Avalanche Studios.
Eidos has announced a deal with Swedish developer Avalanche Studios, which will see the apparently fairly new developer produce an action game called Just Cause for the PS2, Xbox and PC in 2005.
Just Cause is an original intellectual property for Eidos, but other than that very little is known about it, with neither pub nor dev owning up to much. Eidos' head of European external development Martin Alltimes said he was "confident this relationship will produce an exceptional game," noting that "Avalanche Studios offers a great fit to Eidos' product strategy of IP ownership and the development of original content utilising groundbreaking technology."
Christofer Sundberg, director of Avalanche, had this to add: "We are very proud to be part of the Eidos developer network. Eidos is a strong and ambitious publisher with a long history of releasing AAA titles and making blockbusters out of original content. Our ambition is to build a long term relationship with our publishing partner, and Eidos has already proven to be an excellent choice."
If we hear anything else about Just Cause, we'll let you know.
