LIT headlines WiiWare update
Plus: Zombies on VC, two for DSi.
Nintendo has updated the various Wii and DS shops with a selection of games, some old, some new.
Top of the WiiWare list is LIT, for 800 Wii Points (£6 / €8), in which you guide a chap called Jake through his high school at night. The difficulty is that if he strays into darkness he's doomed, so you have to divert existing light sources to create pathways for him.
The other WiiWare effort this week is Ghost Mansion Party (1000 WP - £7 / €10), a board-game affair where you're tasked with clearing ghosts out of a mansion, collecting magic scrolls along the way.
Wii owners of a retro bent can also download Zombies - better known to those who were playing around on the 16-bit systems in the early nineties as Zombies Ate My Neighbours. Zombies is a 48-level action game where you hack up the undead from a sort of looky-down perspective. Whichever the one is that isn't top-down or isometric. Game costs 800 WP (£6 / €8).
As for the DSi, there are two options, the first of which is A Little Bit of... All-Time Classics for 500 DSi Points (£4.50 / €5 - pricing's a little difference on DSi), a derivation of 42 All-Time Classics. Games on offer are Blackjack, Last Card, Last Card Plus, President and Five Card Draw. There's local Wi-Fi support for two players. So, 5 All-Time Classics, then.
Alternatively, and what an alternative, there's Little Red Riding Hood's Zombie BBQ for 800 DSi Points (£7 / €8). If you're wondering what this is, we will leave you with the description provided by Nintendo. This is why we like games:
"After saving her grandmother from the claws of the Big Bad Wolf and its army of evil, everything seemed to have returned to normal for Little Red Riding Hood. However, nothing could be further from the truth. Following the tragic death in combat of the woodcutter, an invasion of zombies endangers world peace once again." Brilliant.
