Hraezlyr boss fight - how to defeat the dragon Hraezlyr
Exit the tunnel and you'll arrive in a kind of mountain-top clearing, to the sounds of none other than Sindri being hassled by the enormous monster Hraezlyr just up ahead.
Head up the left hand path right to the end of it, and follow the buttom promps for some suitably epic quick-time events before the battle itself. Eventually you'll land in a kind of arena, and it's time to get stuck into battle with the beast.
Like any boss fight, Hraezlyr has a set roster of attacks and actions that you need to learn and counter. The first set includes: electricity breath, which has Hraezlyr create electified explosions wherever Kratos is standing; a big breath-in, that sucks you towards Hreaelyr, who then swipes at you with a claw; and finally a classic shockwave, where Hraezlyr jumps up and slams its feet sending a shockwave out towards you.
During the electrified attacks, you need to run and grab some of that red world tree sap you just learned how to use in the cave, and lob it at Hraezlyr while it's electrifying itself to cause some pretty hefty damage. Do it enough and Hraezlyr will be stunned and fall down to the ground - move in and hack away at it, specifically at its damaged eye, for more heavy damage.
The sucking-in and swiping is best dealt with by rolling backwards and blocking to avoid its attacks, and the shockwave is blockable with your shield, so just be patient and, as always, watch for Hrzezlyr's telegraphing before each attack.
Soon enough you'll be into the next phase of Hraezlyr's attacks. It'll now start firing a proper beam of electric breath at you after a very brief pause to charge it up, and it'll leave a kind of electrified fire on the ground where it attacked, too.
What you need to do here is grab another bit of sap to throw at the dragon, but wait until the timing is just right. You need to be close enough to reach it, and you need to be fast enough to throw it before Hraezlyr catches you with one of those electric breath attacks, as it does major damage if so.
There are also some pauses between those ranged electric-breath attacks, where Hraezlyr's claws will be planted on the ground and, in fact, vulnerable to your attacks. It's tough, but if possible try to work your way close enough to get a few hacks in each time and then dodge away, quickly blocking, to avoid being countered.
Time all of this right and again, Hraezlyr will go down and its eye will be vulnerable to more of your swipes. When it gets down to just under half of its HP bar, meanwhile, it's time for a short cutscene and change of tact.

Keep attacking Hraezlyr with the red sap, and when it gets to about a quarter health, crashing down to the ground again, a button prompt (Square) will appear. Follow the prompts to bring the huge crane to the right of the battlefield down on the beast, and, soon enough, the dragon itself down altogeter.
Debrief with a thankful Sindri to acquire Shock Arrows for Atreus, which can be toggled to by pressing Up on the D-pad. Fire shock arrows at any crystallised red sap to explode it. You'll find in the world that sometimes there's a red crystal already on the sap, and other times you'll need to find a tree stump with crystallised sap you can then throw at the normal gooey sap, then shoot with Shock Arrows, to explode it.
Next up: God of War - Mountain Interior puzzle and how to reach The Summit.
Do any upgrading you need to do at Sindri's shop (there's also a new Dwarven Favour sidequest to pick up here, Fafnir's Hoard), then test our your new mechanic properly by having Atreus fire at the crystal on the nearby red sap to blast it away and continue.
