CD Projekt teases more Cyberpunk 2077 news coming in June
UPDATE: Event postponed.
UPDATE 3/6/20: CD Projekt Red has pushed back its plans to show more of Cyberpunk 2077, via a livestream originally set for Thursday next week.
The show will now be held a week later, on Thursday 25th June.
Writing on Twitter last night, CD Projekt Red said that "more important discussions are happening right now and we want them to be heard".
ORIGINAL STORY 6/5/20: Cyberpunk 2077's revised release date of 17th September is still four months away, but developer CD Projekt has something in the works for impatient fans, and it's coming in June.
The developer's announcement, as far as it goes, appeared on Twitter earlier today, teasing the arrival of something called Night City Wire on 11th June. That's pretty much the extent of the specifics, but it seems reasonable to interpret the little TV emoji accompanying the tweet as indication that we're probably entering livestream territory here.
It has, of course, been quite some time since CD Projekt has shown anything substantially new of Cyberpunk 2077. The developer offered up a 15-minute slice of gameplay last August - itself a truncated version of a demo shown behind closed doors at Gamescom, offering a closer look at the Pacifica district of Cyberpunk 2077's Night City - so a fresh glimpse of the experience coming to Xbox One, PS4, and PC in September is long overdue.
CD Projekt confirmed during an earnings called last month that a "full-blown next-gen version" of Cyberpunk 2077 is also in the works, and will arrive "later" than 17th September. Those that buy the game on Xbox One will be able to upgrade to the Xbox Series X version for free.
