Xbox One Twitch app receives major update, adds new filtering options
Tracks players' stats in real-time for better results.
The Twitch app for Xbox One has just received a huge update that allows a much wider range of search options than ever before.
As detailed on the Xbox News Wire, this latest update tracks players' stats in real-time then use those figures to help viewers search for a playthrough that fits their desire.
"Depending on the game, the filters may include player stats, game modes, maps, player skill level, in-game activity, progress, and more," explained Xbox Live director of programming Larry "Major Nelson" Hyrb.
"Want to search for the Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare broadcaster with the highest kill/death ratio? How about instantly queuing up a Halo match from whoever has the highest rank in Slayer mode, or finding Forza Horizon 2 players who are driving a specific class of car? This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the Twitch on Xbox One app's broad array of new search options," he added.
The latest Twitch app update also adds Videos on Demand, which allows users to view other people's archived videos even when the broadcaster isn't online.
The new update also personalises the Home screen so users can follow specific games or broadcasters from their dashboard, saving them the trouble of browsing for their favourite content every time.
"Xbox One helped cement Twitch's place in the living room with its robust set of features," said Twitch director of product marketing, Annie Berrones. "With this impressive set of updates, including the ability to now follow the games you want, view archived videos and have access to more advanced directories, video game streaming and spectating as part of the home entertainment experience is only going to get stronger."
