Watch Dogs includes 60 minutes of PS3-exclusive content
UPDATE: Ubisoft confirms for PlayStation 4, too.
UPDATE: Ubisoft has confirmed that Watch Dog's PS3-exclusive gameplay will also be available on PlayStation 4.
The additional content will be released post-launch as a digital download, the publisher told Eurogamer.
"We can confirm that customers who will purchase Watch Dogs on PlayStation 3 or PlayStation 4 will be able to download 60 minutes of additional gameplay via the PlayStation Network after the game's launch," a Ubisoft spokesperson said. "As of now, we have no more details to share."
ORIGINAL STORY: Ubisoft's promising-looking open world adventure Watch Dogs will include 60 minutes of exclusive gameplay on PlayStation 3.
The feature was revealed yesterday in the game's box art, but not highlighted by Ubisoft at the time.
Presumably the content will also be available on Sony's next-gen console, the PlayStation 4, too.
Watch Dogs is currently announced for PC, PS3, PS4, Wii U, Xbox 360 and "other next-gen consoles".
It's not the first time Ubisoft has favoured Sony's machines over others.
Assassin's Creed games often include exclusive side-stories for PS3 (Brotherhood had the Copernicus Conspiracy, AC3 had an extra saga featuring Benedict Arnold and this year's Black Flag will continue the trend). Far Cry 3 also awarded PS3-owners with extra co-op campaign chapters.
The contents of Watch Dogs' exclusive gameplay has yet to be revealed.
We've asked Ubisoft for more information.
Watch Dogs will arrive in the UK for current-gen platforms on 22nd November, Ubisoft announced yesterday. Its PlayStation 4 version is expected to be available whenever the consoles launches here.
