Wasteland 2 - Highpool, Wreckers, Jackhammer, Ace's Star, Mysterious Shrine
Our complete walkthrough for the Highpool section of Wasteland 2, from clearing the zone of Wreckers, to investigating the Mysterious Shrine.
After arriving in Highpool, take the path by the railway tracks until you come to a wrecked vehicle. You'll have to contend with a few lizard-like enemies here, so get your team into position and finish them off quickly.
Once they're all dead, go north until you come to a fence. Traps have been laid in this area, so use Perception to locate them, and Demolitions to neutralise them. Once the path ahead is clear, use your Brute Force skill to smash into the fence and get to the other side.
You'll next have to deal with a pack of Wreckers. Get your team position set up as best you can without triggering a response from these enemies, then kill them all. Before you start the fight, just make sure everyone's at full health - important if you stumbled onto any landmines on the way here.
With the area cleared, keep travelling along the path, and stay vigilant for any other landmines. Go through the gap in the fence, and then head towards the gate to the north. Use Perception to note the trap, then Demolitions to disarm it. Use Lockpicking to open the gate, and check again for traps before taking the box. Next, head south-west, past the wrecked car, then keep going towards the corpses to start another Wrecker fight. Ignore the other pack of enemies, and instead slip inside the half-open doors.
Take the chest from inside here, then keep heading through the house to hear the leader of this zone, Sean, speak with Jackhammer who heads up the Wreckers. Kill Jackhammer and her flunkies, then speak with Sean. Make sure you select the Camp conversation option to log a side-mission, then head back outside when you're done talking.
Go up the northern path that lies between the burning vehicles to reach the city itself. Carry on beyond the guardhouse, killing any Gila lizards you encounter on the way, then go up the hill to reach the radio tower zone. Kill the trio of enemies hovering around a chest, then loot the chest after you've checked for traps. You can now interact with the broken tower to check in with headquarters.
Bring Ace's Star Home
With the AG Center and Highpool sections done, it's worth taking the time to finish off a few side missions.
First of all, make your way to the Citadel and speak with the guard in front to gain access. Go inside, then speak with the Hunter Captain before making your way just to the right of the lift doors near the middle of the central room.
Speak to Flintlock, who'll ask you to keep an eye out for certain things while travelling around the world. Talk about Ace's Star to finish the quest.
Investigate the strange metal leg
Once you've turned the star in, go and talk to Captain Mercaptain to get your reward. This NPC is also the person you need to talk to about the metal synth leg you found at the tower. Find her in the north-western side of the Citadel, and take your rewards after speaking with her.
As you leave, another Ranger will talk to you. Don't be tempted to buy Robert's weapons, however, as while they have high damage output, they have a ridiculously large chance to jam. Once you've worked through his dialogue options you'll receive another quest.
Mysterious Shrine
Assuming you used your Kiss Ass skill with the raiders in your first mission, you should be able to see a marker on your map called Mysterious Shrine. To get there, leave the Citadel and head towards the X. Interact with the shrine to complete the quest.
Wrecking Crew Stronghold
Get your best gear on, then make your way to the marker Sean gave you, just south-east of the AG Center. When you get inside the stronghold, go forward and kill the Wreckers - think about putting a sniper on the hill while the rest of your squad kill the enemies in the lower area.
When they're dead, take the loot, open the safe to the rear of this area, and also take the skill point from the nearby statue. When everything in the vicinity has been cleared out, head back to the world map.
