Wasteland 2 - Griffith Park, Bastion of Faith, Gauntlet of Samson, McDade, Mayweather
Our walkthrough continues into the next section of the Los Angeles region of Wasteland 2. We'll make sure you don't miss a thing.
When your suits are upgraded, make your way back to Santa Fe Springs and pick them up from Woodson. Before talking to him, make sure your team are positioned and prepared for combat, as you'll be invaded when you accept the suits. Kill the robots when they turn up, then head on out towards Wasteland.
Keep going north towards the Hollywood marker, and make sure you've got your suits equipped as well - the radiation wall will tear you to pieces otherwise. Walk into the new area, then keep heading forwards until you come to a merchant. Speak with him and ask about directions, and he'll give you a quick overview of the region.
Head on back up the road until you come to a path that's been blocked off. Choose to either ignore Matthias or interact with him, then use Brute Force or some kind of explosives on the rocks after applying Perception. Go through the opened section to enter Griffith Park and Bastion of Faith, while avoiding the Gauntlet of Samson.
Make your way to the first crossing after the trader and enter Los Feliz. Keep going forwards and speak with Edwin. Elect to join God's Militia and he'll send you to the guards at the next gate. Finish the conversation and head towards them. Use the Aspirant cue when speaking with the guard, then ask him about the Gauntlet. Now use the Try conversation cure and walk through the gate. Watch out for landmines and enemies in this new area.
When you come to the end of the Gauntlet, you'll have one more test to deal with - stealing the Bible. Fortunately, the brothers will surrender after you've killed one of them. Talk to the priest and take the Bible from him, then activate the switch to the right of the door and go into the Bastion of Faith. Walk towards and then into the building right ahead of you.
If you used the underground path to reach the Bastion, you just need to leave the tunnel into the building and speak to Ascension McDade who's in the middle of the room. If you came in via the Gauntlet, you'll have to enter the right room of this building, where there are caged people.
Speak with McDade and offer to team up with the Church Vigilant. He won't trust you at first, but will offer to give you help if you help him in return. Take him up on his offer, and be sure to choose Radio when he asks what it is you need. Use the Simms conversation cue too while you're speaking with him - it helps with another quest.
Leave via the main door of the Bastion. If you look over to one side, you should be able to see a fenced-off area with guards nearby. Don't get too close to it, or you'll trigger a fight. Instead, use your Lockpicking skill through the gap, and onto the display case containing the eyeball. Take it, then head back the way you came into the Bastion.
Talk to Fealty Mayweather and ask about the black eyes. If your Kiss Ass skill level is high enough, you can use the Ring cue, followed by Simms. Show her the eye, and tell her that Simms was killed by Sanctity. Ask for evidence, let her get it, then report back to McDade.
Next, go back to the chapel where Mayweather was previously and enjoy the results of your hard work. When the cut-scene's over speak to McDade, who'll then grant you permission to use the local tower. Loot the key from Mayweather's corpse, leave the Bastion, and go back to the guarded gate where you pinched Simms' eye.
Talk to the guard, use the key to open up the gate, then head on through into the next area. Keep going along the path until you come to a guarded gate. Go through it, then attach your Repeater Unit to the tower so you can have a quick catch-up with Ranger Citadel. To complete the suit upgrades they recommend, you'll need to pick up five bags of Zeolite - it's spread around the side mission areas, in the same way the kitty litter was in the previous section.
