Washington State honours Penny Arcade
Bill passed in honour of founders.
Penny Arcade founders Jerry Holkins and Mike Krahulik have been officially honoured in a bill passed by their home state of Washington. We expect ours is in the post.
The bill, which serves no purpose other than to give a legally recognised pat on the back to the pair, was passed in recognition of their contribution to the economy, charity and internet funnies.
The move was prompted by the strip's recent ten-year anniversary, and points out that with 48 game companies in state, Washington has a fair bit to thank the games industry for. The Penny Arcade Expo also pulls in a fair wedge of visitors, with last year's show attracting 58,500 mirth-filled social giants to the Washington convention centre.
Holkins and Krahulik also run the Child's Play charity, which has raised over USD 4.5 million for children's hospitals across America.
