Warner Bros. sets up Montreal studio
It'll focus on games and 3D animation.
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has announced plans to open a brand new development studio in Montreal.
The company has been incentiverised by Investissement Quebec, which will invest $7.5 million in the project. The studio will focus on creating games and 3D animation, and will also provide quality assurance and localisation services.
Former Ubisoft exec Martin Carrier will run the new operation. It's expected to employ 300 people by 2015.
"With its creative workforce specialised in digital media and its renowned universities, Quebec is the perfect place to develop our new products and technologies," said WBIE president Martin Tremblay. "The Government of Quebec's tax credits and other incentives made Montreal the right location for our studio at this time."
