Video: Video game vehicles that are so rubbish we'd rather walk
Plus more from Outside Xbox.
Hello again Eurogamers. By now you're probably aware that Metal Gear Solid V is something very special indeed, but spare a thought for all those other games that are being crushed beneath the wheels of Kojima's masterpiece.
But first, and speaking of wheels, we need to talk about motorised vehicles in games. They're supposed to be a rapid mode of transport, conveying you efficiently from one side of the game world to the other. They're not supposed to be mobile deathtraps or glacially slow antiques long overdue a date with a scrapyard compactor. Here are seven vehicles so awful, we'd rather walk if it's all the same to you.
Walking is a very bad idea in Mad Max, a game that could probably have done with not coming out on the exact same day as an epic labour of love from a beloved auteur that was six years in the making. Not least because it's actually rather good as well. For maximum post-apocalypse safety, you'll want to construct the Magnum Opus, a specialised wasteland whip to replace Max's iconic V8. That's exactly our quest in Show of the Week.
Finally, there's another stealth game coming out this year, apparently. Hitman, to which it's been confusingly reduced, arrives early in December and promises a return to the more open maps that made Hitman: Blood Money a fan favourite. There's much more to it than just bigger playgrounds, though. Here are the seven things you need to know.
That's all for this week, but there's plenty more over on our YouTube channel. Otherwise, we'll see you here next week.
