UK Charts: FIFA remains Streets ahead

Electronic Arts' urban take on the football genre has racked up a fourth consecutive week at number one in the UK software chart, holding off major new release Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition which debuts at number two.

Rockstar's Midnight Club 3 also misses out on the top spots in the single-format charts, with FIFA Street and Gran Turismo 4 ahead of it in the PS2 ranking, while Doom 3 is still at number one in the Xbox ranking - and holds firm at number three in the all-formats chart.

Sega's World Snooker Championship 2005 is the only other new entry in the top ten, coming in at number eight, but Blizzard's massively-multiplayer title World of Warcraft re-enters the ranking at number seven thanks to a fresh shipment of stock after several weeks of shortages at retail.

Vivendi's Predator: Concrete Jungle narrowly misses entering the top ten, debuting at number 11 this week, and after that new releases are fairly sparse - with just two titles, both on PC, entering the top 40, namely The Matrix Online at number 21 and CDV's Cossacks II: Napoleonic Wars at number 26.

The only really big title to be missing in action this week is Namco's Tekken spin-off, Death By Degrees (PS2), although Kao The Kangaroo Round 2 (PS2, Xbox, Cube) also fails to make the top 40.

This Friday sees the arrival of the hugely anticipated Xbox title Jade Empire, from Knights of the Old Republic developers Bioware, along with another big Xbox title, Unreal Championship 2: The Liandri Conflict.

Eidos will also be rolling out the well-received LEGO Star Wars across PC, Xbox, PS2 and GBA, Nintendo's innovative Yoshi's Universal Gravitation arrives on the GBA, and Digital Jesters has comic book action title Freedom Force Vs. The Third Reich to offer.
