Todd Hollenshead and his hair leave id Software after 17 years
That salon time.
Todd Hollenshead has walked from id Software, Bethesda has confirmed.
Hollenshead worked at the Quake and Doom maker for 17 years, serving as CEO before Bethesda's parent company Zenimax acquired the studio in 2009. He was president after that.
"After many years with the studio, Todd Hollenshead decided to leave id Software to pursue other personal interests," Bethesda's Pete Hines told IGN.
"While Todd was not part of the development teams, he was an integral part of id Software's success as the business head of the studio and we wish him the very best in his future endeavors."
Hollenshead was apparently a tax consultant before joining id Software, and doesn't appear to have cut his hair ever.
His departure raises questions, not least one asking whether everything is OK at the iconic game developer? Rage wasn't the comeback id Software and Bethesda had hoped for, which put the kibosh on Rage 2, and Doom 4 went back to the drawing board - Pete Hines confirming in April that work on "a new version" of Doom 4 was under way.
