The Witcher 3 Griffin gear: How to get all Griffin armor and Griffin sword locations
How to complete the Griffin series of gear quests.
Witcher 3 Griffin gear is a medium set of armour that is a good choice for those who like to use the Signs in combat.
It can be found throughout the world in much the same was as the other sets. It takes a lot to get it from the basic version to the grandmaster version, but doing so will make you an incredibly strong fighter, so it's worth doing so if it fits your needs.

The Witcher 3 has a vast array of different armour sets to wear. While many of these can simply be found lying around the world, the most powerful items must be crafted using diagrams you can find out in the world. The best armours are often the Witcher School gear, each of which has a quest line associated with it.
While you can always follow the quests themselves, you can also just go and pick up the diagrams anyway.

Standard Griffin Gear, Sword and Armor locations
Griffin Steel Sword
To the west of Oxenfurt is a small island that houses some ruins. Make your way up to the top of these ruins and you'll find a harpy nest that needs destroying, simply take care of these enemies and then go into the room up there and you'll find the diagram on a corpse.
To craft this, you need:
1 Leather Scraps
2 Steel Ingot
1 Monster Brain
1 Monster Eye
Griffin Silver Sword
Off to Lornruk now, which houses a lighthouse that is seemingly inaccessible. If you make your way down to the shore where you can see the Place of Power safely, then you'll be able to dive underwater to find a cave.
Make your way through and you'll eventually emerge next to the lighthouse itself, climb the ladder onto the ruined building to find a chest with the diagram inside.
To craft this, you need:
1 Leather Scraps
3 Silver Ingot
1 Fifth Essence
1 Monster Brain
Griffin Armour
You can find these diagrams within the Dragonslayer's Grotto, which is to the west of Reardon Manor. Make your way through the caverns until you find a dead end with a crack in the wall to your left.
Blow this open with Aard and make your way through the poison filled room until you fight the Ekimmara in a large cavern. Kill it off and you'll find the chest containing the diagrams up some stairs.

This one is protected by bandits at a Bandit Camp west of Midcopse. Go in and beat everyone up and you'll find a chest with the diagram inside up some stairs found just after you enter the area.
To craft this, you need:
1 Powdered Monster Tissue
1 Leather Scraps
1 Griffin Steel Sword
2 Dark Steel Ingot
1 Monster Claw
Enhanced Griffin Silver Sword
Start at the Ancient Oak and head south along the roads. You'll find a cave at the crossroads there just go to the end of it and you'll find the diagram inside a chest.
To craft this, you need:
1 Monster Egg
2 Leather Straps
1 Griffin Silver Sword
2 Meteorite Silver Ingot
1 Monster Tongue
Enhanced Griffin Chest Armour
You can find this in some ruins to the west of Oxenfurt Harbour, there's a happy troll there, so say hello and then loot the chest with the diagram.
To craft this, you need:

Enhanced Griffin Gauntlets
Head to Frischlow before going south to a cemetery. You'll see a Noonwraith floating about menacingly in front of a collection of rocks that you can blast through with Aard, the chest behind it holds the diagram.
To craft this, you need:

2 Thread
4 Leather Scraps
1 Griffin Boots
2 Leather Straps

Just to the northeast of Crow's Perch is a burned-out building. Head inside and you'll find the diagram in a chest. There might be smoke there, if that's the case use your Witcher senses to locate it.
To craft this, you need:

4 Leather Scraps
1 Cured Leather

Start at the Inn at the Crossroads and head north to some ruins. You'll find a chest with the diagram wedged in the corner of what used to be a thin corridor.
To craft this, you need:

Head down the mountain from Yngvar's Fang and you'll find a small town. Head up a small road that leads to a tall rock jutting out of the ground, if you use your Witcher Senses you'll see that it has a mark on it, go behind this to claim your prize.
To craft this, you need:

3 Dark Steel Ingot
1 Monster Blood
1 Monster Feather
Superior Griffin Silver Sword
On the southern tip of the main island in Skellige is the Elverum Lighthouse, head around to the north of it on the coast and you'll find a cave. In the large room at the end you'll find the chest that holds the diagrams in a small nook in the back.
To craft this, you need:

Head north from the Giants Toes and you'll go through a bunch of stone archways and fight off some human enemies on the way. At the end of the trail is a small camp that has some chests, one of the contains the armour diagrams.

Start at Boxholm and head east to the ruined building. Kill the enemy that appears here and then climb onto the ledge to find the chest containing the diagram.

Head east from Fornhala and you'll find some small ruins across the lake. The diagram is in a chest within them.
To craft this, you need:

Mastercrafted Griffin Armour
Head north along the road from Redgill and you'll come across a ruined castle guarded by a cyclops. Either fight it, or simply duck inside to your left and climb up some ledges to find two chests, the one on the left has the diagrams.

Head to the Fort Ussar Ruins where you can fight the Slyzards if you want to. In the eastern section of the ruins is a chest under some stairs, this contains the diagrams.
To craft these, you need:

Grandmaster Griffin Chest Armour, Trousers, and Silver Sword
Go to Mont Crane Castle and defeat the enemies there. Head to the tower in the northern section in the courtyard and you'll be able to dispel an illusion there. Go inside to a small pantry and use your Witcher senses to find a button that will open a secret passage, go to the end of it and you can find a journal to read in a chest there.
This will point you to a different room where a Power Crystal is, take it back to the dead end and put the crystal in the right place. Activate it with Aard and go through the portal.
You'll appear in a cave with an enemy, kill it off and you'll be able to loot the items from the desk, the bookshelf, and the round table in the back of the cavern.
