UPDATE: Three Amiibo for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild have been announced and here's what they look like:
We've got Archer Link, Rider Link, and the tentacled Guardian robot. As of yet, it is unclear how any of them affect the game.
The Wolf Link Amiibo from Twilight Princess HD will grant players an AI canine companion in Breath of the Wild.

ORIGINAL STORY: Nintendo's new Zelda is named The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
A gorgeous, huge overworld is the new star of the game - and the many ways which Link can now interact with it.
He can cut trees to form bridges, cook ingredients with recipes, roll boulders down mountains to squash enemies, scale sheer rock faces and employ several new gadgets to form icy platforms and magnetically pick up metal objects.
