Terraria heading to mobile devices this summer
Dig it.
Side-scrolling 2D sandbox adventure Terraria is heading to mobile platforms this summer, publisher 505 Games has announced.
According to a statement issued to Polygon, these platforms include: iOS, Android and Windows Phone 8.
Originally developed by Re-Logic for PC in 2011, Terraria was later ported to XBLA and PSN earlier this year. Both the original game and its console port were something of a critical darling, oft compared to Minecraft.
This latest version of Terraria is being developed by Dutch indie studio Codeglue (ibb & obb), and it will feature redesigned touch screen controls and Facebook integration for sharing screenshots. Additionally, 505 noted that, "every aspect of the game has been tweaked and balanced to give players the perfect on the go Terraria experience."
Terraria is also due on Vita this summer, though no specific release date for either portable platform has been announced.
