Super Mario Odyssey - The Cake Thief's Parting Gift, The Gusty Barrier, Snowy Mountain Barrier and Tall Broodal
How to complete the Snow Kingdom objective.
The Cake Thief's Parting Gift, The Gusty Barrier, and Snowy Mountain Barrier are objectives you'll encounter after a fair bit of time with Super Mario Odyssey, which follow on from Super Mario Odyssey - A Traditional Festival.
You'll find our full walkthrough for them here, whilst you can head back to our main Super Mario Odyssey guide, walkthrough and tips hub for plenty more on all aspects of the game!
The Cake Thief's Parting Gift
Head down the snow-covered slope, turn left then drop down to the tundra below. Follow the path around the ice wall to your right, then use the platforms to reach the top. Move over the checkpoint (Above the Ice Wall).
You'll hear those Christmas bells in the background. Jump onto the slightly raised platform just beyond the checkpoint and jump in the hidden hole to enter the town of Shiveria.
Run forwards, past the Crazy Cap store and talk to the yeti in front of the Bowser sign. Looks like you need some Power Moons to grant them access to their racetrack.
The Gusty Barrier
Take the first left-hand tunnel to enter Frost-Chill Cavern. Head towards the big, cloud-like Ty-foo. Round around him when he's exhaling in another direction, then use Capy to knock the Spinies into the purple gloop.
Jump on the wooden step and ride it across when it's blown along the track. Now use Capy to knock the hat off the Ty-foo in front of the wooden wall, then use Capy to possess it. Turn around, and press 'Y' and blow the middle portion of the wall forwards.
Jump off, run through the gap and turn right. Head along the path and possess the next Ty-foo. Move right in front of the platform with all the Spinies and blow them all off to reveal a Moon (The Gusty Barrier) beyond. Grabbing it will remove one of the Bowser panels blocking the racetrack entrance. Jump in the Warp Pipe to proceed.
The Snowy Mountain Barrier
Enter the far-left door to enter Snowy Mountain. Walk through the snow drift, climb the platform then use Capy to remove the stopper. Use the air current to reach the higher platform, the run through the wall of snow.
Hit the flower pad, then use it spin float over to the air current. Ride it to the top platform, remove the stopper then ride to the top, icey platform. It's time for a boss battle.
Need more help? Our Super Mario Odyssey guide and walkthrough goes through every objective in each Kingdom, while our Power Moon locations can help you track down the likes of Cascade Kingdom Power Moons, Sand Kingdom Power Moons, Metro Kingdom and New Donk City Power Moons and more collectables. We also have Purple Coin locations for each Kingdom, and if you want to know what to spend it on, we have a hats list, outfits list, stickers list, a souvenirs list as well as a music list to kit out the appearance of both Mario and the Odyssey. Once you've finished the game, check out the free Balloon World update, too.
Tall Broodal
It's time to fight the Tall Broodal again. This time, he throws two razor hats. Rather than trying to strafe, wait where you are and throw Capy to flip it into a flower jump pad. Leap on it (be careful, the ice can make you overshoot) and spin float onto the boss's head.
Next he'll start throwing his spiked hats in a curved path from either side. Again, throw your hat at it to turn one of them into a jump pad and float onto his head.

Third time around he'll alternate between his attack patterns, so be on your guard. Float a third time to defeat him and claim your single Moon (The Snowy Mountain Barrier).
