Subsurface Circular Chapters 1, 2 - Stops until Basic Source, Fall Palace location puzzle solutions
How to complete Subsurface Circular's first and second chapters.
Subsurface Circular Chapters 1, 2 give you a gentle start to the game, introducing you to the basics of using focus points and speaking with multiple Teks.
This page features a spoiler-free explainer on how to complete each chapter, including stops until Basic Source and Fall Palace location puzzle solutions.
If you're after help with other parts of the game, consult our Subsurface Circular walkthrough.
Starting Chapter 1 - Recognition
First, chat to Fabricator Alpha Seven. Choose any options that aren't 'I think we're done here' until Focus Point 'Disappearances' appears at the bottom. Select it, and a new option, 'Who exactly disappeared?' will pop up.
Now to find out what the fabrication Tek knows. Agree to take the case when you can, then talk through all the talking points until you are ready to select 'I think we're done here'. Give yourself a name, and the chapter will end.
Starting Chapter 2 and the stops until Basic Source puzzle solution
Three Teks will board the carriage. Listener Nu Seventeen won't give you anything - nor will any listeners in future - so focus on the other two.
First, chat to Researcher Omicron Three. Go through the dialogue options until 'You've got all the information you need', where it will ask how many stops until Basic Source. Check your map to learn the answer is 'Is it twelve?'.
Next, select 'I'm wasting your time, you said you were lost?', then select any options to add an investigation for 'Fall Palace'.
Fall Palace location
Now chat to Calculator Pi Three One. Select the first options in any conversation until you get 'Human discontent' as a Focus Point. Then, use the 'Fall Palace' focus point to learn about its location.
Back to Researcher Omicron Three. Select the 'Fall Palace' focal point now you have spoken to Calculator Pi, then use 'Suspicious events' to unlock the 'Red Tek' focal point.
Run down the discussion points and the other three Teks will leave. With the first two chapters done, time for Subsurface Circular Chapter 3: Red Flag, which has a few meatier puzzles than what we've seen so far.
