Six on Live Arcade horizon
MS talks about what's next.
In case today's double-serving of Xbox Live updates - Double Dragon's confirmed release and the console's Spring Update - aren't enough, Microsoft has also thrown up a list of six games rapidly approaching the vaults of Live Arcade, all due out "later this year".
Toy car racer Mad Tracks is first on the list, courtesy of D3Publisher (which recently announced plans to release it and two other titles, including handheld favourite Puzzle Quest), while Konami is offering Rush'n Attack (another of its arcade updates), Silver Creek has Soltrio Solitaire (a compilation of 18 different solitaire card games, with co-op and competitive two-player modes), Strange Flavour and Freeverse are preparing Spyglass Board Games (chess, draughts, mancala and reversi - Othello to some of its friends - with camera support for video chat), Gaia Industries is offering Street Trace: NYC (a hover board racing and arena battle game with Xbox Live play), and Chair Entertainment has recently-announced underwater action game Undertow.
The fact Microsoft is focusing our attention on these six suggests they're advancing their way through the Xbox Live Arcade pipeline with a fair amount of haste, but they're hardly alone in being confirmed for the service. Other upcoming titles we're keeping an eye out for include Castle Crashers (from Alien Hominid HD developer The Behemoth), a port of Treasure's timeless Dreamcast/GameCube shooter Ikaruga, Llamasoft's Space Giraffe, Codemasters' Sensible World of Soccer, Capcom's recently-announced duo of Super Puzzle and Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, and a number of arcade conversions, including SNK Playmore's Metal Slug. There's certainly a lot to look forward to, so what's high up on your most-wanted lists, Eurogamers? And do I sound like a tit when I say that?
