Sine Mora headed to PC next week
Let's do the time-warp again.
Time-bending philosophical horizontal-scrolling shmup Sine Mora is coming to PC on 9th November via publisher Kalypso Media Digital.
Developed as a collaboration between Suda 51's Grasshopper Manufacture and Hungarian studio Digital Reality, Sine Mora was originally an XBLA exclusive that debuted in March. As one would expect of a game developed by an eccentric Japanese studio and a Hungarian partner, the game didn't quite feel like anything else out there, despite its reliance on a tried and true bullet-hell template.
Grasshopper contributed to its lush, colourful art direction and haunting music by Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka, while the surprisingly mature, labyrinthine story and core mechanics were developed by Digital Reality. Neon Genesis Evangelion artist Mahiro Maeda designed the bosses, too.
Our Dan Whitehead loved the game. "This is a heartfelt love letter to one of gaming's thoroughbred genres and one that fans of the right temperament should experience without delay," he wrote in his 9/10 Sine Mora review.
