Shaun White hated first game appearance
Rubbish Activision game put him off for ages.
Skateboarding and snowboarding man Shaun White has been talking about how much he hated his first appearance in a videogame.
Speaking to Official Xbox Magazine at E3, White said that appearing in Shaun Palmer's Pro Snowboarder on PS2 was a crushing experience.
"It was the worst experience of my life, 'cause I was so excited, I'm like 13, they're like you're going to be in a video game. You start freaking out, you're getting excited. Then the game came out and I'm like, 'I don't look anything like that!' It was ridiculous," he said.
White said this is because he wasn't able to have any input, and that afterward he turned down game offers for some time.
"No one asked me what I thought of it, nobody wanted to know that, they just took my name and put it on the character."
Presumably the point is that this all changed when he started working with Ubisoft on the Shaun White Snowboarding series, although, er, we'd argue it hasn't entirely set the world on fire either, scoring 4/10 on PS3/360 and 7/10 on Wii the first time out, and 6/10 when it had another crack at Wii.
Oh well, there's still Shaun White Skateboarding, which is due out on multiple platforms later this year.
