Shadow of War - The Wages of War, To Gorgoroth and how to rescue Baranor
How to beat the two Gondor missions.
The Wages of War and To Gorgoroth are two missions as part of the Gondor storyline in Middle-earth: Shadow of War.
These unlock one after another, and come after completing Allies, Blood Sport and The Uninvited.
If you are interested in completing other missions in the game, our Shadow of War guide and walkthrough can help.
The Wages of War
Prerequisite: Complete The Uninvited.
Reward: 10625 XP, 960 Mirian
Rescue the Gondorians: Once the third of four is free you'll be interrupted.
Defeat the Captains: Gubu Skull-Splitter and Garl the Strong show up to ruin your day. They're both easily stunned and vulnerable to ranged weapons so we took the strategy of keeping one immobile and firing off a few shots at the other to keep them at bay until we were down to one, and then it's a simple fight.
Need more help? Our Shadow of War guide and walkthrough gives you an overview of everything you need, but if you need something in particular, we have pages on Shadow of War Fortress Sieges, how to earn Mirian in Shadow of War, a guide for how to import your Nemesis and Follower to Shadow of War, collectibles guides like how to get all Shadow of War Legendary Armour and Weapons sets, a list of Lost Artifacts and Web of Fate locations, and Ithildin Door poem solutions and Shadows of the Past, along with how to grind XP in Shadow of War to power through the tricky Shadow Wars endgame and get the true ending. Finally, there's Shadow of War's army building explained and the best skills and how to earn Skill Points.
To Gorgoroth
Prerequisite: Complete Wages of War.
Rewards: Iron Guard skill upgrade, 11370 XP, 970 Mirian
Find Baranor / Rescue the Gondorians: Head towards the marker.
Rescue Baranor / Defeat the Captains: Zunn Bone-Licker and Skak Taskmaster are your opponents, but Idril will show up to fight by your side.
You can try and rescue Baranor while the fight is in progress, but we'd suggest just dealing with the threat first.
