Shadow of War - The Scourge, Fire and Fury and how to beat Helm Hammerhand and Nazg?l's Drake
How to complete the two Eltariel quests.
The Scourge and Fire and Fury are two missions as part of the Eltariel storyline in Middle-earth: Shadow of War.
These unlock one after another, and come after completing The Tower of Sorcery.
If you are interested in completing other missions in the game, our Shadow of War guide and walkthrough can help.
The Scourge
Prerequisites: Complete Tower of Sorcery and capture the fortress in Seregost.
Reward: 12165 XP, 980 Mirian
Defeat Helm Hammerhand: This fight will play out in much the same way as previous encounters with the Nazgûl - dodge his attacks, Stun when prompted, and avoid his projectile attacks. When you attempt to Dominate Helm at the end of the fight Eltariel will intervene.
Need more help? Our Shadow of War guide and walkthrough gives you an overview of everything you need, but if you need something in particular, we have pages on Shadow of War Fortress Sieges, how to earn Mirian in Shadow of War, a guide for how to import your Nemesis and Follower to Shadow of War, collectibles guides like how to get all Shadow of War Legendary Armour and Weapons sets, a list of Lost Artifacts and Web of Fate locations, and Ithildin Door poem solutions and Shadows of the Past, along with how to grind XP in Shadow of War to power through the tricky Shadow Wars endgame and get the true ending. Finally, there's Shadow of War's army building explained and the best skills and how to earn Skill Points.
Fire and Fury
Prerequisite: Complete The Scourge.
Reward: 15950 XP, 1030 Mirian
Defeat the Nazgûl's Drake: Use Charged Shots to knock it out of the sky, then close in for some melee attacks; try and approach it from the rear when it's on the ground as it can still spit fire.
Follow Eltariel. Defeat the Nazgûl's Drakes: Same as before, but you have two to contend with.
Follow Eltariel. Defeat Helm Hammerhand: This is a repeat of your earlier fight, but there's also a Drake spitting fire at you so if you can get a few seconds respite from Helm Hammerhand it's worth trying to take it down. On the plus side the Drake may also injure Helm, and he seems a little weaker this time around so the fight should be over more quickly.
