Resident Evil TV series to debut following final movie
Or so we herb.
Plans are being drawn up for a Resident Evil TV series, set to launch following the final film in the franchise's long-running movie saga.
The untitled telly show will be made by the same studio as the movies - German production house Constantin Film (thanks, Variety).
Five Milla Jovovich-starring Resident Evil movies have been released so far (yes, really).
A sixth and final installment - Resident Evil: The Final Chapter - is currently being written. So don't expect the TV series before that.
It's unknown what story the TV series will follow, or which characters may pop up again. The film franchise's plot has diverged greatly from Capcom's original games, although still focuses on many of the same main characters.
2012's Resident Evil: Retribution added Johann Urb (Leon S. Kennedy) and Li Bingbing (Ada Wong) to the cast. Both are set to return for The Final Chapter alongside Sienna Guillory (Jill Valentine), Shawn Roberts, (Wesker) and Ali Larter (Claire Redfield).
