How to use the Car Key and find Car 7439
First go straight ahead then left into the Firing Range, getting the Equipment Disposal Notice File from the table nearby on the right.
There is also a Box here. Investigate it in your inventory, turning it around, to reveal a button prompt. This opens the box, giving you the Car Key as mentioned in the file.
If you take this back to the car park, you can find the car to the south-west.
The car number 7329 is on the license plate.
Open your inventory and investigate the key, turning it around so a button prompt appears. Press the button and the boot should open - giving you the Gun Stock (Matilda) as Leon - combine this with your Handgun to turn it into a semi-automatic weapon - and the JMB HP3 as Claire, giving you a new handgun.
Our full Resident Evil 2 walkthrough explains every aspect's of Leon and Claire's campaigns, including Locker Code solutions, the Leon Desk puzzle solution, all Resident Evil 2 Safe Codes and Portable Safe solutions, Hiding Place locations, how to survive Mr X fights and the Chess Plug puzzle solution.
Exploring the rest of the Firing Range
Head back to the Firing Range. Get the A Message to Mr Raccoon File at the reception desk, before turning your attention to the two doors in the corner with a zombie guarding them. The right door requires the Diamond Key - when you have it, inside is a 3F Locker Roll Film, as well as a Red Herb.
The west door has a zombie, some ammo and at the end of the firing range on the ground, a Mr Raccoon toy. As the file in the other room describes, you should shoot it - this is a collectable you should be looking out for as you play the game.
With the Firing Range fully explored, it's time to continue on to the Morgue.
