This appeared for us after completing An American Pastoral Scene. It's a Jack mission near Valentine.
Follow Jack to the gunsmith and purchase the sniper rifle, then follow him out into the wilderness to the designated point. After firing off rounds near the group to spook them off - it'll take a couple as instructed - head down towards the sheep.
Herding sheep is simpler than it looks - all you have to do is focus on the yellow dots on your mini-map. These are the stragglers, and you'll want to get behind it, so the straggler is between you and the main group of grey dots. Once the group is together, position it between you and the yellow marker on the map, and set off.
As long as you don't sprint then you shouldn't get many stragglers along the way, but if you do, take a moment and let them catch up by breaking off and focusing on them.
After you take it to the auction destination, head into town to meet Dutch. After the cutscene, slowly draw, focusing on the two holding your crew hostage, then begin a shootout.
After the initial wave, you have to push a cart through town. As always it's easiest to focus on the mini-map, but don't get overwhelmed; with the cart acting as cover, you should only focus on the enemies to your sides. That way, you should be clearing any threats as you go down the street, as any left behind you will cause you and the gang serious damage.
When instructed, carry Strauss to the horses and put it on John's horse when the prompt appears. When you're on your own, don't worry about fighting - immediately get on your horse and head in the opposite direction of the town, going west towards the river, crossing it and heading south, to escape the Wanted level.
Once done, the mission is over, and it's time to visit Dutch for A Strange Kindness.
