Sonic Heroes uses RenderWare
What an adventure.
Sega's latest Sonic title is using RenderWare in order to speed up the game's multi-platform development, Criterion announced yesterday. All three versions of the game were seen at E3, and described as 20 per cent complete at the time.
"We decided to license RenderWare because the solution provided us with not only the technology, but also the best methodologies for efficient multi-platform development, enabling our team to focus on what really makes Sonic stand out," Sonic Team's Yuji Naka commented.
Sonic Heroes has been described by Sonic Team as a totally new game, and not an extension of the Adventure series. Sega fanboys have since leapt on anyone challenging this like ravenous wolves; pointing out that the three characters have never used their abilities on the same levels before, and highlighting "symbiotic controls". Hmm.
