Zelda bonus disc to join Stars Catalogue
Four older games for the price of... well, about 18 new ones.
Nintendo is giving fans another chance to get their hands on the Zelda Collector's Edition disc that shipped with the Mario Kart: Double Dash bundle last Friday thanks to its recently relaunched Stars Catalogue at www.nintendo.co.uk. The bonus disc will join the Stars Catalogue collection on December 1st.
However with just 250 Stars earned per first party game purchase on Cube or GBA, the aggregated cost of collecting the 4500 Stars is probably much more than just buying the blasted Mario Kart bundle for £99.99.
Nevertheless, for anybody who has been patiently tapping numbers into the website since day one, 4500 Stars for the four Zelda titles - two NES and two N64 releases - might well seem like a good deal. (Side note here: how come whenever I input my codes, I have to do it once, then once more before it accepts the number, then have to type in my username and password again?)
Just to recap, the disc brings gamers the original The Legend of Zelda title and same system follow-up Zelda II: Link's Adventure, along with N64 titles Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. Ocarina of Time can also be found on the other bonus disc Nintendo released with Cube Zelda adventure The Wind Waker. To round things off, the disc also includes a demo version of The Wind Waker.
Of course there is another way to get your hands on the Zelda Collector's Edition disc that doesn't involve spending £99 or god-knows-how-much to accumulate the necessary Stars. All you have to do is enter our competition to win the Mario Kart: Double Dash bundle, and if you win, you'll get the disc for free, along with a Cube and Mario Kart. Not a bad deal, really...
